The West is now coming very close to being completely caught up on the Trails series. Trails through Daybreak 2 has just been confirmed for a Western release — and that's crazy, because its predecessor, Trails through Daybreak, only just launched today at the time of writing. It's a seriously impressive turnaround by publisher NIS America and developer Falcom.
Just like the first game, Daybreak 2 will arrive on PS5 and PS4. Western fans are now just one game away from being up to date on the franchise, as the third title in the Daybreak saga — Kai no Kiseki: Farewell, O Zemuria — is set for a Japanese release this September.

We strongly recommend Trails through Daybreak, by the way. It's a brilliant entry in Falcom's long-running RPG series.

Well that’s soon! Catching up is getting further away though 😂
That's all fine and dandy, but where is my Trails in the Sky trilogy remaster?
Woooo great news. Now just need that Sky trilogy port and we are gold. Holding off buying on Steam as I wanna reserve my playthrough for PlayStation and have the full platinum collection
Got to give NISA / Falcom some praise here, they've done really well in getting these games over this quickly. Especially with how massive the script is in Daybreak.
@Czar_Khastik There's another Trails panel tomorrow at Anime Expo that covers the series' history... You never know!
@ShogunRok Now you're talking, thanks for the info! Got my fingers crossed
Got my copy of Daybreak today, skipped CS4 and Reverie and decided to play it straight away. Hopefully I don't regret that decision.
Geez daybreak 2 will probably arrive before Amazon ships my pre order for daybreak 1. 🙄
Jesus christ, from being so far behind to catching up this quick. Im on Act 4 of Reverie. Hoping to finish this weekend. And to think I bought the the first Trails of Cold Steel on Vita with no knowledge/outta boredom. Now I'm hooked ðŸ˜
Were finally almost there. What a run it's been. Hat's off to nisa and falcom for pulling it off while also localising nayuta and the ys games.
This is great news. I picked the game up today. Once I get back from vacation I’ll be starting it, and I can’t wait.
Hopefully once they are done with all of this we can get some more remasters of some of their older games like the Gagharv Trilogy.
@SuperSilverback I did the same thing! I bought Trails of Cold Steel on my Vita and was hooked ever since.
@UltimateOtaku91 I did the same. I finished cs 1and2 and azure but I fresh start is what I needed.
so far not crazy about the field battle system. But they still got some chapters to convince me. Story is top-tier though, as usual.
@UltimateOtaku91 Come back to CS4 and Reverie eventually! CS4 is a lovely ending (especially the credits images) and Reverie is so good! Especially the corridor!
@TechaNinja that corridor is very fecken addictive
@SuperSilverback Dw brother! You'll catch up soon enough. Hope you're enjoying Reverie
Excellent news. I started Sky FC last May and I’m now up to the early hours of CS4. Once I’m done with daybreak it’ll be strange to not have the next game to roll in to right away, but at least I know it’s close!
Great news! Loving Daybreak. Would really like for Falcom to get to Tokyo Xanadu 2. They wrote at the end of the first game "We promise to see you again....in another Xanadu!"
I haven't had much time to put into Daybreak yet but from the little that I've played it's making a very good first impression so I'm happy to see the next one is already right around the corner.
Trails really has become one of my all-time favorite series so I'm glad to see it doing so well for itself!
@GilgaMax96 just finished the main story last night. Doing end game corridor stuff now 😬
@SuperSilverback The Reverie corridor is so damn addictive mate 😬
