We're just a couple of weeks away from the launch of Black Myth: Wukong on PS5, so it's nice to see developer Game Science confirming that the action title has gone gold. A social media statement says that the game's now ready to go, and that everything's locked in for the big 20th August release date.
It's actually a huge announcement, considering the project's history. Wukong has been hanging about for years, having first entered development in 2018. And for a long time, onlookers would claim that the title simply didn't look real, and that it would probably never see the light of day.
But the Chinese studio has always stuck to its guns, and now, we're just two weeks out from finally playing a finished version of Black Myth: Wukong. Let's hope that it lives up to six years of heightened expectations!
"Right now, our entire team is working hard on the final stages of experiencing, testing, and deploying the game," Game Science writes. It also reveals that a brand new trailer will be dropping on the 8th August at 8am Beijing time, which is in the very early hours of the morning for us here in Europe. Something fun to wake up to, we suppose.
The developer goes on to warn players of potential spoilers doing the rounds online, and concludes: "We sincerely hope that all the mysteries and surprises of Black Myth: Wukong remain intact until the moment you embark on your journey. Your anticipation and trust given in the past four years are always remembered."
