The only game missing from Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is the original Rival Schools – but it’s hard to complain too heavily when you’re talking about a bundle featuring the two Power Stone titles and Capcom vs SNK 2: Millionaire Fighting 2001.
Due out in 2025, this is another insane PS4 retro compilation from Capcom, featuring the following eight stone-cold classics:
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Capcom vs SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
- Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
- Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
- Project Justice
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper
As you’d expect from a modern Capcom collection, you’ll find artwork, a music player, and a training mode in addition to the original experiences, preserved with graphics filters and other quality of life improvements. Most importantly of all, though, all of the titles will be updated with online play and rollback netcode.
In addition, if you’re more of a casual player and concerned about the difficulty of these retro re-releases, Capcom is implementing a new one-button control scheme which will make it easier for you to perform special moves in many of the titles. You won’t be able to use this feature in ranked matches online, but it should help you to better enjoy the single player content.
This follows on from the previous Capcom Fighting Collection, which also featured a superb array of cult classics, including five Darkstalkers titles and much more.
Which of the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 games are you most excited for? (317 votes)
- Capcom Fighting Evolution
- Capcom vs SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 Pro
- Capcom vs SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium 2001
- Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein
- Power Stone
- Power Stone 2
- Project Justice
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper

Awesome news. Powerstone games, Star Gladiator and Capcom vs SNK games. Cant wait.
OH MY GOD!
I honestly thought they'd break CvS and 3D fighters into separate collections. That's a cracking release.
Holy....this and MvC Collection. Capcom, I guess you got my money!
I'm always perplexed by these compilation titles - it's a bunch of old fighters that the vast majority of people stopped playing decades ago because something better came out.
Why do people buy these titles? If it's nostalgia, do they actually play them for more than an hour or so? Why not just download an emulator or take advantage of one of the many other ways to play these individual fighting games?
And does anyone actually use the gallery/music players?
@Mortal Because they're fantastic games, beautifully preserved and presented on modern hardware, with quality of life improvements and — crucially — rollback netcode online play!
Why not Rival.Schools? but Project Justice!!!!! always have wanted to play it and have never gotten the chance
Power Stone hasn't shown its beautiful face since the PSP release. Count me in.
@DualWielding I wonder if Rival Schools is getting its own re-release and they'll localise the dating sim bit as well.
I would have preferred Rival Schools over Project Justice as well, but this is an awesome collection.
Yeah, this is an absolute day one buy. Some phenomenal stuff here.
CVS 2 will sell this collection by itself so long as it has decent netcode
@get2sammyb but they're all old games!
insert old-man-shakes-fist-at-cloud gif
The lack of original Rival Schools game is a bummer but aside from that this is a great collection. (Power Stone!!!)
@get2sammyb that would be … wow
Power Stone finally on modern consoles yo! Really loving these collections from Capcom recently.
@get2sammyb I remember back in the PS3 days, a PSone Classics re-release of Rival Schools was being held up due to some rights issues with the voice actors. And when they did finally figure it out, it was released only in Japan 😞
@zidane4028 Oh really?! I didn't know about that, that's interesting. Hope they can figure it out!!!
Fighting Evolution is widely considered the worst fighter Capcom ever put out. So it is tainting this collection in my opinion.
Getting CvS2 is amazing though.
Power Stone 1 and 2 online! LETS FREAKEN GO!
Great compilation but criminal that they left out Alpha 2 gold
Powerstone is a legendary capcom game.that arcade game is awsome.word up son
Love the Street Fighter Alpha/Zero 3 games. Shame it’s not Max/Double Upper, but still cool.

POWERSTONE LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
I would buy a Switch just for these Capcom collections. I'm a huge CVS1 fan.
@Mortal Most people don't want to mess around with an emulator.
When the Marvel Vs Capcom collection was announced I had a look at how much it would cost me to get these games on original hardware from eBay and it came to £650, heck people actually spent around $400 to get an arcade cabinet with those titles. So to get these games now for just £40 is a steal.
I know I’m late to the party, but Power Stone, oh my God. That game got so much play on my Dreamcast.
Should have called this the NAOMI collection. Well, except Capcom Fighting Evolution (which was Namco System 246-based).
Great set of games!
Man, I’m definitely down with the Power Stone and Capcom vs SNK games. Looking forward to playing Project Justice and Plasma Sword for the first time too. Fighting Evolution is definitely the worst game on this list though. A huge let down back in the PS2 days.
Capcom is cooking.
This collection is awesome as well.
Some of these were stuck on the dreamcast. Project justice... i never even dared hope.
@DualWielding Because I'm almost certain all of the included games run on the same arcade system (Naomi/Dreamcast). So there's probably a Naomi emulator running in the background.
OG Rival Schools was running on a Sony guy, essentially a PS1 in an arcade cabinet.
What does the "upper" refer to in SFA3 upper.
I had the PS1 edition with the single player mode that ended you up with Shin Akuma (i dont care if he is cheesy) - is this the same, if so i would gladly buy just for that game.
@Rich33 Upper was just an updated version of it, the last version that was in arcades and Dreamcast. Has a couple extra characters in it.
@Rich33 It came to Dreamcast and Arcade (moved from CPS2 to Naomi) and had a GBA port. The GBA port added 3 characters from Capcom vs SNK 2. Eagle, Yun and Maki, but had to cut some stuff like music, sound and stages to fit on the cart.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max then came to the PSP with an extra character Ingrid and some extra modes.
@Mortal Rollback is a big reason. Yes, Fightcade has been filling that gap for a while now, but a lot of people either don't have PCs, or don't want to mess around with downloads from odd sites, setting up etc, they'd prefer something that's just plug and play.
Fightcade is relatively easy to set up and runs on low end PCs, but it still asks you to download roms from what might seem untrusty websites and servers, so for people (understandably) uncomfortable with that, this is a great release.
I didn't even know this trailer was out lol I have C Vs SnK MOTM 2001 on the PS2 god I remember that year as well as I bought that, Mercenaries 1, NFS Underground 2, The Suffering I swear they all came out around that time but I remember the ps2 was such a great console especially for weekends at friend's house
We'll find the 1% who's excited for Capcom Fighting Evolution the most eventually
@Fighting_Game_Loser although CVS2 is my favourite fighting game of all time, I am genuinely excited for Capcom Fighting Jam/Evolution. Yeah, it’s *****, but I kinda like it and it’s nice to see it get another chance.
PROJECT JUSTICE, RIVAL SCHOOLLLLLLLLLL YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Capcom stacking that 🍞
Maybe it's because I played them on the PSP, but of all the titles included in Part 2? I'm not interested in either Power Stone game, they really weren't very good.
An interesting idea, but the execution left a lot to be desired.
@SoulChimera @DrClayman
Thanks.
Just hope its the Dreamcast version then which i think contained the world tour mode, rather that the arcade which probably didnt.
