As leaked earlier today, it's now been confirmed that Sid Meier's Civilization 7 will be available on 11th February, 2025. It's coming to both PS5 and PS4, and along with the release date, we have this first look at the game in action.
While the footage shown in the above trailer is from PC, it's a fair representation of what it'll look like on console, though we're sure there will be some control/UI differences. Anyway, to be honest, it looks exactly how we expected it to look — hexagons, political disputes, and multiple time periods. It's Civilization!

Massive step up in visuals which is cool. Remains to be seen how gameplay will be changed but I’m always up for Civ. Bodes well that Shawnee are confirmed as part of the pre-order nonsense, I’d love more varied Civs and there’s so many rich histories of tribal nations to draw from. Looked like Augustus Caesar with Cleo there too I think?
I’m so there for this!
Finally a Civ for PS5. Unfortunately it'll feel like a step back, like each new civ usually does, until they drop some expansions to round out the experience.
It looks great! I like the idea of ages, mixing and matching Civs, and how the city expansion looks. The ages will give the game even more possibilities and might help solve the age old problem of late game drag.
I better get my affairs in order, a new Civ is never good for anything else going on in my life.
One.
More.
Turn.
