The upcoming Silent Hill 2 sounds increasingly appealing, with the revelation that original composer Akira Yamaoka remade the original soundtrack for Bloober Team's remake, adding some all-new tracks this time. Silent Hill 2 will wander PS5's fog-filled streets from 8th October.
Observed by GamesRadar+ on X, Yamaoka remarked on the experience of returning to the iconic, eerie soundtrack after 25 years. With each piece remade to match the stunning-looking game, Yamaoka notes that the updated track list, which includes some entirely new music, reflects his growth as an artist, "challenging me like never before."
Released for the PS2 back in 2001, Bloober Team's remake will be quite a bit longer than the seminal original. This is quite surprising, as, after a fairly rough first showing, Silent Hill 2 is shaping up to be a graphically demanding game and potentially something of a showcase for PS5. Not much longer now until we can all return to that special place.

With everything I’ve seen and heard so far on this, I can’t wait. 😺
I cannot wait for this, everything I read about this game just gets better and better, and I say this as a diehard fan of the OG game!
This is pretty cool to be fair. Have the first two OSTs on vinyl, proper classics.
Loved the original music, it captured that bleak, disconnected otherworldly atmosphere perfectly. Whatever the new game ends up being, I’m really looking forward to it now
I watched and listened to a gameplay demo from Bloober Team on their youtube channel and the strange sounds were great, i'd really like to know what VST (virtual studio technology) and samples/VSTi (virtual studio instruments) were used in production.
Those soundtracks are truly iconic. Absolutely cannot wait for this—only one more month!
Such an inspiring soundtrack. This must have been real a journey for Yamaoka.
Just started streaming the PS2 version on my channel. Haven't played it in 20 years and it's SO good. I forgot how incredible the music is!
