Son and Bone is an unabashed video game fever dream, the kind of thing a non-gamer probably thinks the medium is actually full of. A bombastic boomer-shooter, players take on the role of Sam Judge, a sheriff on the trail of an infamous bandit, who unexpectedly finds himself on an alien world inhabited by dinosaurs.
In a new PS5 gameplay trailer, we are immediately assaulted by industrial-grade heavy metal music, violent finishers, and a surprising amount of double-jumping platforming action. It doesn't take long before unsuspecting dinosaurs are getting gibbed left and right in shockingly violent fashion, with a wide variety of high-calibre weaponry or even just fists. There is still no firm release on this one, but the developer says it's "coming soon… very, very soon… seriously."

The dev team is four brothers, which I think is super cool. However, their previous games were pretty poorly received. I don’t have much hope for this game but I love the idea. Sometimes you just want stupid fun.

@Frmknst Bit over the top. When I read "everything wrong with games", I expect microtransactions, battle passes, loot boxes, mandatory online, perhaps open-world, etc. Not a bit of harmless, dumb fun.

I wouldn't put this in the same league as Turok (1 - 3) - looks more like an even jankier Serious Sam to me.

LOL. This looks like exactly the kind of dumb fun I’ll pick up when it’s on sale or hits a price drop for $20 or under.
EDIT: I take this ALLLLL back!!!! I knew the graphics looked low-grade & familiar and the game play seemed shoddy and basic!!! These guys are the ones that made the EPICALLY bad Quantum Error, which is quite possibly the worst game I’ve ever played. I will be steering well clear of this dumpster fire!!!

dino lives matter
Wasn't expecting high art, but that still looked a bit too janky, so I think I'll rather keep waiting for those few other indie dino games.
You'd think that more devs remembered how cool dinosaurs are so that we'd have more games. Hopefully Jurassic Park: Survival manages to surprise, while we also wait for Capcom to finally give in and remake Dino Crisis.
Fun to watch, has that Turok feel with realistic gore. Not even sure a story is needed for this genre.
