Gamescom Opening Night Live Announcements

God of gaming events Geoff Keighley has confirmed that next week's Gamescom Opening Night Live will feature fresh announcements. The organiser and host has felt the need to make this clear after listing off a bunch of known games that are set to put in an appearance during the presentation. Naturally, these unannounced titles will remain shrouded in mystery until the show, unless some kind of catastrophic leak occurs beforehand.

So far, Geoff's noted that the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, Marvel Rivals, Dune: Awakening, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Civilization 7 will all be present. We also know that Metaphor: ReFantazio, Phantom Blade Zero, and Crimson Desert will be there — at least in demo form.

But let's face it, "new game announcements" — as per Geoff's Twitter post on the subject — could mean anything. Typically, Gamescom isn't the place for gigantic reveals — it's always been more of an updates show, because of its proximity to events that take place earlier in the summer.

Indeed, 2023's Gamescom Opening Night Live had a heavy emphasis on providing new information for games that had already been announced. We're assuming that'll still be the case this year, but with a few surprises sprinkled in.

Are there any announcements that you'd love to see during the show? Make some wild predictions in the comments section below.
