In case you missed it, retro revival specialists Nightdive Studios are bringing back The Thing — a cult classic PS2 shooter that follows the events of the 1982 horror film. The Thing Remastered is set to release on both PS5 and PS4 later this year, and a batch of new screenshots has been released to give you an idea of how it's shaping up.
As you can see, it looks to be fairly faithful to the original game, but with pretty significant updates across the board. Supporting 4K visuals at up to 120 frames-per-second, Nightdive has created new assets for character models, textures, and animations, as well as enhanced the 3D rendering and lighting. On top of all that, certain gameplay elements will be modernised, and Trophies have been implemented for good measure.
Are you looking forward to The Thing Remastered? Let it snow in the comments section below.

I can’t wait for this. I love everything Nightdive does.
Yep, definitely jumping on this. The Thing’s my all time no.1 film, but life events had me out of the gaming loop during the PS2 years so this one passed me by at the time. From other comments here sounds like I’m in for some fun!
@jrt87 I think I experienced something similar.
@Lup cool story bruh
I’m not much of a Horror gamer but I’m definitely going to be playing this, loved it when I watched my brother play it years ago
