Warhorse Studios has officially announced the release date for its anticipated sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. While initially pencilled in for 2024, the medieval RPG has been pushed back, but at least now has a firm release date: 11th February, 2025.
The news comes as part of a wider announcement about the developer's plans for the rest of this month:
As previously revealed, Gamescom Opening Night Live will play host to a new gameplay trailer, but there's plenty more for fans to get excited about. Following the trailer during Geoff Keighley's showcase, Warhorse Studios will release a 25-minute gameplay video on 21st August, giving everyone the chance to see lots of footage.
On the same day, the embargo will lift on a fresh batch of previews from the press, and the game will be playable at Gamescom proper for those in attendance. Finally, Warhorse is planning to unveil the collector's edition of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, showing off what you'll get if you splash out.
All eyes on next week, then. Are you looking forward to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? Charge into the comments section below.

Playing the first game now and it’s brilliant. Fully recommend*.
*Lockpicking is a disaster on console, even with its ‘simplified’ mode
Love the first game so much but it launched rough, so if they need more time then I'm happy to wait.
Should have more room to breathe in early 2025 (until Monster Hunter Wilds and a bunch of other blockbusters inevitably get dated for Q1).
2025 is offically stacked, God help everyone's wallets
I'd happily pay many many many many pounds for the collectors edition, especially if it has a digital element so the game can be played from my library without a disk.
Let's wildly speculate on what will be included. Sword? Cup and Dice? Dancing skeleton bard puppets? Monastic robes? An invite to the Rattay Tourney? 😱
@Ravix It's just a box full of KCD Soap. You too can smell like a peasant from medieval Bohemia.
I have played the first game a bit and thought it was very gd,I'll get back to it before to long I Hope,yeah much better have delays and get launch right than like so many games these days that release having to need a ton of patches etc
The first game was so broken for so long!. I had a quest in Rattay glitch for about 50 hours of gameplay before it eventually sorted itself out with patches. No doubt I’ll be picking this up still 🫣
Gonna be the highlight of 2025 for me in terms of releases!!!!
Can't wait to get cocky thinking I can take on two measly bandits only to get clobbered to death again.
Is it just me or does 2025 have more releases scheduled for the early portion of the year than 2024 had total? We’ve got 2023 all over again!
And yet another game delay as the usual game delay season starts for the next 3 months.
It’s becoming such an annual event I think Geoff should host a show case on it around late October time 🤣
2025 will not be that stacked as all the games that were originally 2025 will get delayed to 2026.
It’s a yearly cycle now, just add one year to each game year release date.

Lockpicking was awful in the beginning; I couldn't do it. So I saved the game and reloaded God knows how many times. But once I got skill points, it became easy.
I finished the main story last week and I only do a few side quests. Even hard ones are kind of easy to open after increasing your skills.
Rather half a complete experience than a half baked one
@itsfoz
I’m playing it right now too, and I don’t really get the whole difficulty thing with lock picking; you just rotate the left stick smoothly, then it’s just about adjusting the right stick so the orb stays in the yellow area. It’s easier after you get the skill to widen the area, obviously, but that comes very early on.
Maybe it would annoy me more if I had ever played the PC version.
For me the most annoying thing is the lack of manoeuvrability in combat, with it being so easy to get surrounded and thus die. Hopefully that’s improved for the sequel.
Phenomenal game though.
The fact the developers have said they had to scale back the game to compensate for the Xbox Series S has really tarnished my hype for this one. Looking forward to seeing more though
@itsfoz
It's really not tbh. I'm playing through it rn.
I love it when I'm able to lockpick and actually think it's fun and very easy on simplified. Just takes some getting used to maybe
More time to finish the first game i'm currently playing and loving.
@itsfoz All the skills are terrible at the beginning of the game, by design. It's a slog but once you level them up a bit, it isn't that hard, though I kept using the "simplified" console lockpicking. That was my main criticism of the game actually. No matter how good your inputs were on the controller, you were just going to suck at combat and other skills for a good long time.
Is it worthy to buy the first game now? Is the combat satisfying? I enjoyed the exciting world of Witcher 3 but the combat was so dull in this game.
Good, gives me more time to finish the first one. I really liked it but never played it to the end.
