Man this game is going to be sooooo good

My hype is already through the roof and I honestly want to get surprised while playing so I will avoid everything that comes out in these days, we’re only one week away!

Real question is... where's my 4th special bot in Astro's Playroom? That trophy won't pop itself

When people will discuss the PS5 in ten years, they will say „The defining game for PS5 was Astro Bot.“ So remarkable is this game in so many aspects.

I heard Sony signed a secret deal to make this game PS5 exclusive.

I really hope this game does well. I'll love it either way, as it's one of my favorite genres, but I so want it to sell well and warrant a sequel/continuation of this path for Sony.

@Enuo I can corroborate this. I also have a source that affirms timed exclusivity on the title until the next Nintendo console launches, where it will be available alongside PC. No Xbox I’m afraid, according to said source 😞

This remains the one and only game I'm still debating whether I just want to buy it as my Christmas game on PS or wait for the hoped PC port later.

@NEStalgia If you're waiting to get Astrobot as your Christmas game maybe wait and get it on sale in a buy 1 get 1 50% sale, must be something else you want. Or wait a year and it will probably be on PS+. You seem like a PS+ guy but it occurs to me don't think we've ever discussed that topic. Though you know me, swiss cheese brain, we could have discussed it last month. 😜

Was planning on getting this day 1 for my kids birthday but then Sony decided to add "The Plucky Squire" to PS+ Extra when it releases just week later so I'll just pick that up now and buy this later on sale or pick it up at the library, assuming there's a physical disc edition, for $60 seems like there would be.

Unfortunately I won't be able to play this at launch, but nevertheless I am still so glad that I pre-ordered this and the controller. I am genuinely so hyped to be able to play this, I can't even remember the last game I was so excited for. I think Astro Bot could honestly be a 10/10 game.

@rjejr Were I not in a transition back to PC in the coming months (Used to be PCMR back in the 90's and 00's, switch back to console and away from cost at troubleshooting when PS360 finally "caught up" for cheaper and more convenient. But this gen sucks so bad, Xbox circling the drain where I bought 3rd parties and making PC first priority, plus PSVR2 being poorly handled, my only path was going back to PCMR + Nintendo....MAYBE + PS but that depends on Sony PC policy. But Astrobot is basically THE quintessential Christmas game....wait or buy...that's the hard decision!

I used to dip in and out of PSNow, but because of how you have to convert your whole membership for the duration I haven't actually upgraded to +. I do have Game Pass though, also so it makes less sense to double dip. But also haven't decided to keep GP PC once I switch over, or just drop the sub entirely.

Yeah I assume there's a physical version for this one. I still can't get over "video games from the library" Last time I was in a library was the 90s, true, but all I remember was musty ancient books, and a video (VHS) section with some DVDs on a few shelves, all of it being educational and research materials. Entertainment media did not exist in libraries, that's for sure! I was mostly just enamored with the microfiche readers....

@NEStalgia may as well buy it on the ps5, I imagine it will look pretty damn good and run well. So not sure on this type of game how much of a bonus you would get from the PC port in a year or 2

@rockodoodle I bought a PSVR2 to support the franchise and all I got is this lousy display port adapter.

But yeah, it's a game I must play, I adore Astrobot, just not sure if I want to make it this year's Christmas game, or wait for it on PC with the inevitable VR mod.

This game is gonna be GOTY for a lot of people.
Doesn't matter if it's gonna win any awards or not, a lot will still have it close to heart simply because it's pure lighthearted and fun gaming, accessible and enjoyable at any age!

Already preordered the game.
Even managed to preorder the Astro DS gamepad for my son... and at a local retailer of all places, and at a normal price!
It's not Christmas, but considering the current shtuff happening in the gaming hardware sales around the globe, it sure felt like a small miracle (o_O)
Oh, and I didn't tell him about the pad yet, ssh! 🤫

@NEStalgia I don't think my library has any microfiche readers, don't think I've seen one of those since grad school in the 90's, but the DVD section is quite large, and the consoles have a few shelves each, even split up into general plus the kids room, which is basically Blues Clues licensed stuff, poor kids. It's a 3-4 minute drive from the house, my kid occasionally walks it for exercise, so worth the trip.

All the video game services are getting to be almost as bad as the tv and movie streaming services. Maybe pretty soon we can spend $50 per month for EA Play, Ubisoft+, PS+, Game Pass and NSO and never buy games again. Maybe next gen. 😜

I never get bored watching behind the scenes videos. And it's crystal clear this game made by very talented and passionate people who put fun gameplay over graphics. They understand a good game needs to nailed how fun the core gameplay.

I really hope Astro Bot sold a lot which is more important than winning awards.
