Developer and publisher Dragami Games has opened up pre-orders for its upcoming remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP. You can now pre-purchase the game for PS5 on the PS Store for $44.99 / £39.99, with a 10 per cent discount for PS Plus members.
To mark the beginning of the pre-order period, the company has released a new trailer, showing off about three minutes of gameplay. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is the remaster of Grasshopper Manufacture's madcap action game from 2012, in which you play a high-schooler named Juliet fighting back against hordes of zombies.
The remaster adds RePOP mode, an alternative mode that replaces the blood and gore with fun visual effects, and introduces a number of quality-of-life improvements and new features. Of course, the graphics and sound have been enhanced, too.
The game's release date was recently brought forward, now launching on 12th September 2024. Are you excited to hop back into this one? Give us a cheer in the comments section below.

The next two days are gonna be a drain for my wallet, pre ordering this, the astro controller (if I get in on time tonorrow), and another thing tonight that's not PS related (but for those that want to know, a stylophone theramin)... Can someone please give me a job?! 🤣
Bloody hate that head already lol.
Sorry, but without the original soundtrack I just can not get behind this. It would be like re-releasing GTA Vice City but without V Rock. You've just taken away one of the main reasons why I play your game.
Idk, to me it looks like money grab attempt. Looks not much different than PS3 version. For 45 dollars too, I think I will happily wait 6 months until it will be given for ps plus
Is this an advert?
We took away the music and gore!
Thanks, I hate it.
With no easily availble physical copy £40 does seem a lot for a remaster without the original music as others have pointed out. Was one of my favourite PS3 era games but I think I will wait for a sale.
@Alps_Stranger They didn't take away the gore, it literally states it at the beginning that it has the Repop filter on. But this begs the question, who was this filter made for?
Absolutely loved this game and will make a purchase. Just not at $45. Not a chance. Price is much too high for a remaster.
Has it been censored in anyway?
And is there any news on a physical edition?
@Nepp67 I saw that but, as you pointed out, it makes zero sense. Yes, you can bring the gore back but why did they take it away at all?
@Bamila "Idk, to me it looks like money grab attempt"
I would have happily bought the money grab if it had the original soundtrack 🙁 so yes after being too cheap (probably) to pay for the original songs this indeed is a cash grab!
I remember the game coming out but never managed to get to playing it. I was hoping this would be my second chance but I really don’t wanna pay £40 after seeing that video.
Something looked off so I went to look at some PS3 gameplay of the original and there's no character shadow! So she doesn't look connected to the ground.
I was really looking forward to this but the fact it looks worse than the original and lacks the OST makes it feel like a cheap attempt to raise money.
Grasshopper did a better job when they re released the first two No More Heroes games and didn't charge a ridiculous price either.
Hopefully Shadows of the Damned will be better!
@Alps_Stranger They didn’t “take it away” and let’s face it, what’s more absurd than a mode that replaces blood and gore with that stuff? It fits with the absurd theme of the game anyway.
You can just…not turn that mode on and still have it. It’s an additional option.
It's not coming to ps4 ?! Shadows of the Damned is at 25€, a easier price for a purchase at launch.
@dskatter An actual defense of it? Wow! Now tell us how getting rid of the music actually fits with an anti-corporate theme that runs throughout the sexy zombie killing game.
@Alps_Stranger Nice dodge of the fact that it’s a mode you can leave off and never use.
The music is another matter, and is a reason I’ll never get rid of my PS3 copy. Be upset about THAT, absolutely, but don’t be upset about an added option that literally affects you in no way whatsoever.
