Personally, we’ve always felt Life Is Strange is at its best when it’s being grounded, but we appreciate a big part of the franchise is how its characters’ powers intertwine with the storyline. And we reckon heroine Max Caulfield’s evolved dimension hopping abilities could be the best conceit the series has come up with yet, as it allows you to explore two separate timelines: one where her friend (and presumably also love interest) Safi is still alive – and another where she isn’t.
This concept is cool because it opens a ton of gameplay possibilities. For example, you may receive clues about one timeline by talking to a character in another one. You can move in and out of the dimensions, and developer Deck Nine has included some tells to help you understand which version of the world you’re actually exploring.
While the examples in the trailer don’t seem great – Max uses her powers to fetch a freakin’ wrench for her friend – we assume this is rudimentary stuff, and the developer is keeping the bigger plot points under lock and key.
We love a good narrative adventure, and this is looking like a good one. We can’t wait to step into Max’s shoes once more later this year.

Max Caulfield’s power is having a surviving career after being in Grease 2. That career being Pierce Brosnan’s stand-in in 007 Nightfire. No I could never get over her sharing a name with Z list actor Maxwell Caulfield.
What happened to Sam? I Think that was her name?
Maximum cereal powers.

I enjoyed the first one and before the storm but I tried life is strange 2 on ps plus recently and quit during episode 2.
It was just so boring. So many mundane tasks in the house etc
@Aramius
Why do people with the worst grammar have the worst opinions? It’s like hate and stupidity go hand in hand.
Anyways, game looks really good. The first one was really well done, and it will be interesting to see what creative ideas they will implement with the new mechanics.
This looks interesting, and potentially the power coukd lead to great narrative whiplash. Seems to tie in a little with the comics too, but I expect more incidentally.
I do hope we see some of Max’s old character in the full game, the characters are what make the games, and it would be a shame if it brushes over it all.
@Aramius The irony of you having a f**king MGS2 profile pic while spouting that drivel. I swear you lot don’t even pay attention to the games you play.
@Americansamurai1 Sam? You mean Chioe they might explain where she is in game.
@Areus yeah it's been forever since I played the first game lol
love life is strange games and others like it
looking forward to lost records bloom and rage as well
I miss the time rewind powers still - it was such a chill experience picking one choice and then rewinding to see how it could have gone
