A follow-up to PS3 fan-favourite Shadows Of The Damned is something Suda51 would consider making if the upcoming PS5, PS4 remaster of the original sells well enough, the creator has said. If "enough people really want it" and sales are high, then a sequel is "something we would at least consider working on in the future," he said to Gematsu. When asked what another entry might look like, Suda51 points out a "sort-of sequel" found in Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes, claiming it "could be something like Eight Hearts going on a quest to help Garcia, as a continuation of the Travis Strikes Again storyline".
When discussing the remaster, Suda51 mentions the PS5, PS4 version runs at a 4K resolution in 60 frames-per-second, a New Game+ mode, and the four previously revealed bonus costumes. Nothing has been cut; it's the exact same content as the original game with more modes and extras. "Gameplay is exactly the same as in the original, so it should feel exactly the same, but prettier," he said.
As for what game Suda51 would want to remaster next, he points to the PS2 and Nintendo DS title Flower, Sun, and Rain. "It’s an old Grasshopper title, and fans have been asking for it for a long time. We really want to do a remaster this one and put it on Steam, etc., to make sure that it properly survives as part of the Grasshopper Manufacture catalogue."
What's going to help the Shadows of the Damned remaster sell when it launches for PS5, PS4 in October is its price point: just £20 / $25. It's out on 31st October 2024. Will you be buying the remaster? Let us know in the comments below.

This old sales tactic, eh?
I was getting it anyway but now i have more incentive lol Bargain at 20 quid
Physical via regular retail and we have a deal, Suda!
played this on ps3, 2yrs ago for 3dollars.
I’m good 😝
Meh, pass. One game is enough.
The price point almost had me, but the buy it so we can make a sequel con is making it even more tempting. Although we all know it has minimal chance of happening, that glimmer of hope is worth £20 for me.
I personally think this is a fun game! I enjoyed it first time around!
Already pre-ordered.
Finished it on the 360 many years ago and I remember either giggling through it or just gaping at what was being thrown at me (a particular goat boss springs to mind).
Would love to see a proper sequel but I would really like to take Suda51 up on his mentions of a Killer7 remaster next.
@get2sammyb if this actually worked we would've gotten ffx-3 by now since the x an x2 remaster sold millions 😳
I already bought it on PS3, I'm not that rich to be an investor.
I bought both my copies for the 360 then ps3 second hand so I can redeem myself bying it full price on the store, even if I would prefer a physical copy.
@get2sammyb I hate when companies pull this tactic of holding potential sequels and such hostage behind a game selling whatever counts as enough to them.
I liked the game just fine but I'm not interested in a sequel, I would prefer he make something new. However I wouldn't say no to a NMH 2 PS5 port, is the only one PlayStation didn't get.
I liked the original a lot more than I expected to. I'd say this is primarily due to it controlling well and being a hell of a lot more accessible than most of Suda's work. I always assumed that was due to Shinji Mikami's involvement - it plays like a budget RE4.
I don't know if I'd want to return to this or a sequel. My guess is my tolerance for the humor probably only lasts for that first playthrough.
Where’s that damn sequel?!
Ah, so no sequel then...
I enjoyed a playthrough back in the day, but I wouldn't pay full price now, especially for a simple Remaster.
By the way, why not make something altogether new? Or that's deemed "too risky" by them upper stratum chickens?
I've already pre-ordered my copy of the remaster despite still owning the original. The first game is one of my favourites of the PS360 era and so I would absolutely love a sequel...
Always comes of as cynical when developers say this before release.
I was buying it again anyway though since its a great game and the remaster is cheap.
You should buy this anyways because the game is awesome. Would be an amazing bonus to get a sequel.
@MegaManX-7 what would you do if you were in their shoes and wanted to make a sequel? It's not like they are a huge studio with seemingly unlimited funds, so in order to make a sequel, they need to convince potential investors that there is an interest in it.
I would of been interested if it said REMAKE
@MegaManX-7 I get what you're saying, but you still didn't answer my question. If you were in their shoes and had their limited budget, what would you do to make a sequel happen?
