We've been up and down on The First Berserker: Khazan recently. Some gameplay footage from a couple of weeks back looked a bit jank, but its Gamescom trailer — complete with a gruff Ben Starr voiceover — made a much better impression.
Fortunately, we've now got a rather good gameplay deep dive, which looks to outline the action RPG's core combat system. While we do think that the Souls-esque flow of Khazan and similar titles is starting to wear a bit thin, there's still a lot of promise here, with multiple weapon types, crunchy attacks, and a range of defensive techniques.
We're hoping that Khazan is able to build on this positivity with its closed beta, which is set for the 11th October on PS5. You need to sign up via the game's official site if you're interested.

It's my most anticipated game now that we have Wukong on our hands. I can't wait to try it out.
Yeah it looks fun! GoW meets Darksiders, hopefully the story and atmosphere can set it apart, but looks a perfectly fun palette cleanser at the moment.
Looks great. Hesitant with Nexon involved but hopeful it turns out to be a good game no strings attached.
Looks awesome and I'm really looking forwards to this. You guys at pushsquare do realise that not every 3rd person hack and slash game is a souls like yes? Look at assassins Creed origins, odyssey and valhalla for instance as they contain 3rd person combat and crafting mechanics etc but are never labeled with the moniker "souls like." This game looks to be much more like the ninja gaiden games in terms of speed and game play. ARPG would be a more apt description.
