Apparently aiming to fully exploit the momentum of Minecraft's weird live-action movie, developer Mojang has unveiled a bold new content plan to invigorate the venerable game, reassuring PS5 players that a native port is on the way.
In a grandiose blog post entitled "The Future of Minecraft's Development," Mojang celebrates the game's 15th anniversary and commits to an accelerated content release schedule (thanks, Eurogamer). Instead of the one big Summer update we've seen previously, the developer has now pledged "a number of free game drops throughout the year. These game drops will vary in size and will ring you features to explore more frequently."
On the PS5 front, a native version was announced a couple of months back, and work continues apace, with Mojang declaring: "Minecraft is better when friends can play together on whichever device they want. Over the coming year, we’ll also be exploring ways to improve Minecraft’s multiplayer experience and make it easier to find and connect with friends."
