Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is set to release on the 24th October for both PS5 and PS4, and if you're not quite sure about this completely remade RPG, we'd highly recommend giving this 'Primer' video a watch.
As far as we're concerned, this five-minute overview is a perfect example of how to market an old-school revival. The game's producer, Shinichi Tatsuke, gives us an earnest walkthrough of what the remake's all about, covering the original title's history, how it's been reborn, its main systems, its new features, and what you can expect from the experience in terms of general gameplay. It's just an impressively clear and concise breakdown of the stuff that matters.
Tatsuke also notes that Revenge of the Seven is being developed by the same team that crafted the Trials of Mana remake — which bodes well.
The original Romancing SaGa was ahead of its time in several ways, so we're quite interested in seeing whether this remake resonates with a larger audience here in the West. Are you looking forward to this one? Pass down all of your best abilities in the comments section below.

If Concord had this kind of introductory video, it would stil be alive
Hats off to them for that video, it's clear & concise. Told me almost everything I needed to know, especially that you don't need to play Romancing SaGa 1 first, as they are separate games.
its pretty cool these games get a new life with a fresh look. hopefully people give it a chance. maybe we'll get a new game.
@Czar_Khastik You mean it might of lasted 3 weeks instead of 2?
Actually looking forward to this, especially after hearing it's being developed by the team that did Trials of Mana.
Outside Saga Frontier 2, i've tried two Saga games; Unlimited Saga and Saga Emerald Beyond and i never clicked with any of them.
I never try Romancing Saga though and this remake looks kinda interesting but somehow the graphics / vibe reminds me of Trials of Mana remake.
That video did its job more then well because now I actually have some interest in the game.👍
@PuppetMaster Unlimited was beyond terrible it kind of put the nail in the coffin for the Saga series.
@pharos_haven I wouldn't say that was a "nail in the coffin" for the Saga series, more like an extended hiatus, because with multiple re-releases and remakes, as well as two new entries (Scarlet Grace and Emerald Beyond), the Saga series seems be alive and well.
I've never enjoyed a game in this series before which is crazy and I don't think this one is gonna change anything 😅
@zidane4028 I wasn't talking about re-releases but yes it 14 years for Scarlet to make an appearence. Emerald Beyond was mid at best
