Tony Hawk, the legendary skateboarder and namesake of Activision's beloved skateboarding game series, has teased something in relation to the franchise's 25th anniversary. Speaking in an interview with Mythical Kitchen, the Californian appears to more or less confirm a new game of some sort in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series.
"I wish I could tell you more, but I can tell you that I've been talking to Activision again," Hawk says, adding that it's something "insanely exciting". He clarifies, saying that he and the publisher are "working on something" together. "It will be something the fans will truly appreciate," he teases. You can hear the conversation in the above video at about 25 minutes in — we've time stamped the correct part.
Indeed, the original THPS released on PlayStation back in September of 1999, making it 25 years old this month. It seems an apt occasion to begin talking about something new, though exactly what it is remains a mystery for now.
After the release of the great remake compilation Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, fans were hoping the same treatment would follow for games 3 and 4. However, developer Vicarious Visions as we know it was absorbed into Activision, and any plans for the later games to be remade were cancelled. We suppose Hawk's comments could suggest the project is back on the cards, but it could equally be something else. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long to find out.

Tony hawk RIDE 2 for psvr2 I bet.
Maybe it will be Xbox exclusive
The 1+2 remake were fantastic, so I'm really hoping this leads to a possible 3+4 remake or a new entry in the series.
Just hope it's good like 1+2 remake and not terrible like some of the games.
Yeah id be up for 3+4. Nearly git 1+2 in the sale yesterday for ps5. Loved the origionals and the remake for ps4
3+4 would be good! I really enjoyed 1+2 and still regularly play 3 (which I think is my favourite of the series) on my PS2
@Bizzy 3 kinda lacks a good way to play it unless you just go the emulation route. 1 and 2 have been remade or remastered or ported so many times by now, it’s 3’s shot to show everyone why it’s so beloved. I still think the challenge system of 1+2 is the best addition to the franchise in over 20 years, it would add so much more replayability to 3. I have more nostalgia for 4 and Underground but 3 is the best that the 2 minute runs ever got, even in later games which included a classic mode.
As long as it's not a THPS 5 remaster consider me interested
@Kidfunkadelic83 Activision weren't interested in a 3-4 remake, they used the team to help on COD.
That's not sarcasm either.
3+4 remakes hell yeah!
At least it can’t be NFTs at this point anymore, right…?
