We’re not sure we quite understand how turn-based RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has come out of nowhere and completely captured the imagination of the entire games industry, but it’s not letting go with this all-star cast announcement.
Despite being developed by a relatively unknown studio, Sandfall Interactive, it’s attracted some huge names to voice its characters, including Charlie Cox of Daredevil fame and Andy Serkis from The Lord of the Rings.
Here’s the full lineup, alongside their character names:
- Charlie Cox
- Gustave
- Jennifer English
- Maelle
- Kirsty Rider
- Lune
- Shala Nyx
- Sciel
- Ben Starr
- Verso
- Andy Serkis
- Renoir
The latest trailer showcases the new cast across a number of cinematics and gameplay sequences, each looking more extraordinary than the last. If you’d like to know more about the characters, and their motivations, there’s a nice write-up on the PS Blog.
It also should be noted that the trailer ends with a Spring 2025 release window, so it’s technically not that far away – in fact, we could be playing this in around six months if all goes well. Just how high does this currently rank on your most anticipated list?

Benjamin M. Starr is voicing in the game? Sign me up, Clive!
Well it's got Clive so that has me slightly interested already 😅
One of my most anticipated games for next year
The scenery, combat and story look really promising so far
The more I see this, the more I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Looks incredible.
@CWill97 A fellow viewer of PS Access I see!
Seriously invested in this game, it looks so unique and stylish, hopefully the gameplay and story match that.
IMO this and KCD2 are the only upcoming shimmers of light in the darkness that is modern, non-indie, RPGs.
It's surreal, but also incredibly exciting, to see a game like this fully embrace turn-based combat. Really hoping this one sells well.
This, Star Citizen’s story mode and that game with her from the Witcher that’s ‘multimedia’ all feel like fake games. Like the mix of stupid names, studios you’ve never heard of and actual actors in the cast having clearly cost money just gives me weird vibes.
@Keyblade-Dan Dude it actually looks like Clive wtf lol I'm down to play as Verso the entire game if they let us!
“All-Star Cast”? Aside from those two, I don’t know who any of these people are. Guess I’m at that age…
This is definetly on my list.
Andy Serkis as one of the villains (I assume) is very exciting. He's got so much natural charisma as an actor.
I'm so excited for this!
This looks like it's right down my alley. I'll be there in the Spring!
@LavenderShroud Ben Starr did FFXVI (I know him from TV mostly) but the rest outside of those two I have never heard of.
I got Charlie Cox and Charlie Day and entirely broke my own heart. One day we’ll get the It’s Always Sunny turn-based RPG of our dreams
I’m already sold on this, stop giving me more reasons!
Looks fantastic turn-based with things time sensitive button presses like we had on Legend of Dragoon. The style looks clean I love the voice can't wait to play it.
I can't wait for this game. I can't recall being this excited for a rpg in a long time. Last time was the FFVII remake announcement.
Most anticipated for me for spring. Unless Yotei gets an april/may release. My last 2 most anticipated were sea of stars and Hogwartz and I loved them both. I'm hoping my gaming intuition is feeling a triple crown moment lol
N.i.c.e. this is going to be a instant classic.word up son
games like these and phantom blade zero need more attention , these games look amazing, because they don't have a high end studio name attached to them doesn't make them any less of a great game.
Well, no idea what this is, but it's definitely going on the high priority list!
Not Al Star, Ben Star.
I never thought I'd be into a turn based combat game but this looks so good that I think I will give it a try.
I can't wait for this game to be honest, Square Enix need to keep an close eye on how well this game does.
@LavenderShroud The others listed are veteran voice actors but I do see your point.
@nessisonett @LavenderShroud
If you played Baldur’s Gate 3, Jennifer English voiced Shadowheart
@ztpayne7 Ahh, makes sense that the others are more voice actors, I was the same as @LavenderShroud in that I just took all-star to mean screen actors!
It's one of the best-looking JRPG that wasn't made by a J studio, I'm absolutely looking forward to it.
Looks so good. Easily my most anticipated game for next year...
