Update: Responding to a handful of concerns, PM Studios has confirmed the physical version of Black Myth: Wukong will include the full game on its Blu-ray, and you won't need an Internet connection to play. It's just the Deluxe Edition codes which will need to be redeemed optionally from the PS Store.

Original Article: The physical version of Black Myth: Wukong, which was leaked overnight, has now been officially confirmed by Game Science, with PM Studios aiding the developer with distribution across the USA, Europe, South America, Australia, and New Zealand. A release date for the physical edition hasn't been set yet, but pre-orders at retailers will go live soon.
Boxed copies will contain a code for the Deluxe Edition content seen in the digital version on the PS Store, which means physical versions actually represent a $5 saving. There have been concerns over whether this is simply a "code in a box" physical release, but PM Studios has confirmed to us there will be a "disc with the game on it".
The included Deluxe Edition voucher will allow to an additional weapon, extra equipment, a bonus Curio, and the digital soundtrack containing select tracks.
In our Black Myth: Wukong PS5 review, we awarded an 8/10 rating and praised its combat system, impressive visuals, and standout boss fights. "It takes time for Black Myth: Wukong's combat to truly click, but when it does, this is one of the most creative action titles on PS5. One after another, its spectacular boss battles steal the show — a procession of memorable encounters that showcase the game's incredible artistry."

I would say that this is a good news for physical media Gamers who want to play black myth wukong. It's a Spooky one, but a good one. Especially if you're a fan of monkeys and magic. Definitely give this one a try if you are game.
I shall be supporting this.
It’s beautiful
People like to talk about the overwhelming move towards digital media, but it's no surprise when the wait for physical is so much longer! Not many people are gonna double dip on a 60+ quid (or whatever) game
Absolutely picking this up. Glad I held out for the disc version!
I'll be interested if it has a Pro upgrade. The Digital Foundry breakdown of the base PS5 version put me right off.
Perfect. Been waiting for this announcement for months. Much appreciated.
I am really pleased the game is on the disc, great news, hopefully gets a pro patch too.
Will pre-order once they go live!
Really confused whenever anyone automatically assumes a physical game release is a code in a box. Can't even recall if or when the last time Sony has ever done this, even Nintendo does this very rarely.
I had a nightmare last night where we had to emphasize that a physical edition includes a disc. I'm really glad it was just a bad dream
Shut up and take my money!
Not sure if I should get this one or not... Maybe when I have more time. Just kinda burnt out on these types of games at the moment.
Yeah I’ve been waiting for physical… I expect quite the sales bump!
Count me in, been holding out for this one. And with a backlog as big as mine it’s not like a couple of months waiting actually matter.
Hell, I still have both Baldurs Gate 3 and Tears of the Kingdom left to enjoy. And I play for at least 15-20hours/week so it’s not like I’m not trying to decrease my backlog.
I guess the conclusion is: I buy too many games… (100% physical!)
How about PS5 Pro patch? I am eagerly waiting this update!
Will be getting this day one
Cool.black myth wu Kong is a excellent video game.im glad its getting a physical release.word up son
@Medic_alert Yeah, that makes sense. I'm just saying the picture isnt as clear as "digital is the future", when I think it takes time to see the true spread of physical vs digital media, when one form has a lapsed release. I.e. if physical and digital release simultaneously for more games, the split might be more equal.
Is this going to be available via any actual retailers or just via this link?
Is on Amazon UK but it's the only place in the UK that I've found it
hope its been patched played it on pc and its amazing the ps5 version had issues
Live now on Amazon UK. Place holder date of Dec 31st
@LiamCroft Did you guys delete all of the comments when you updated the article? I think I was number 37 when I commented on here early this morning and now there are only 22. 😝
@KingPev Thanks. They can delete us, but they can not silence us. Or something. 😂
Hello there fellow gamers.
Great news for any gamer like myself that enjoys owning their games in physical form.
Will be getting this as soon as possible.
Thanks for the good news @LiamCroft.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming
@rjejr The original article from this morning was redirected to this one with the latest information.
Got my pre order locked in.
@LN78 "The Digital Foundry breakdown of the base PS5 version put me right off."
Digital Foundry are brilliant at what they do, but they also are pedants, excessively concerned over minor details. Unless you are as hyper-sensitive as them you will likely have a far better time.
E.g. I've seen them call games 'unplayable' because they have poor frame pacing, not ideal granted, but if I listened to them too much I never would have played Bloodborne, Tears of the Kingdom or many other great games with poor performance.
Definitely will give it a preorder. Gotta support physical.
Waited over a year after release for Baldur's Gate 3, Alan Wake 2, and Psychonauts 2 because the lack of physical editions this gen, and was waiting for this as well. You love to see it, even if the new normal is to expect delays. I guess that's what backlogs are for.
@babybilly
I dunno, they just released a Doom compilation Collector's Edition that came with a steel book case but all the games are digital codes (no actual disc included). As crazy as it sounds, it happens.
Further back, several PS3 games did this as well. Marvel vs Capcom 2 and DuckTales come to mind. They sold empty cases with code vouchers inside at retail. One wonders what a person does with a game case that doesn't come with a game...
Where did my comment go wtf?
@LiamCroft Ah well that explains it. Kind of weird and really annoying to haev an article w/ a link on the front page w/ 34 comments but then when you click on it you get brought to another different article w/ only 30 comments, and no matter how hard you try, and I've tried, you can't read the original article or it's comments, so it's a big waste of time, but at least now I know.
Why not just remove the article no one can read from the front page any sane person would ask? 🤷♂️
@rjejr That would leave us with dead links that don't lead anywhere from social media posts, and we always try to direct readers to the most up to date information, particularly when it goes from rumour to official.
