Fans Are Concerned Until Dawn PS4 Could Be Delisted Following PS5 Remake's Release 1

Update: While we haven’t received word back from Sony yet, it’s looking increasingly like this is a bug. Until Dawn shows as “not available for purchase” on the web store in some countries, but if you search for it on a PS5 or PS4 console, you can buy it no problem. This all suggests to us that it’s some kind of complication with the PS Store’s notoriously flaky infrastructure, perhaps pertaining to the fact the PS4 version was recently renamed to Until Dawn 2015. Either way, we’re fairly confident this will be fixed soon.

Original Article: If we’re to assume Sony’s plan is to grow the Until Dawn franchise, it’s not going about it in the best way. The new PS5 remake is totally fine, but its performance is pretty pathetic – especially when you consider the original runs at 60 frames-per-second with backwards compatibility. It’s also much cheaper than the new version – or at least it was, when you could buy it.

Fans have noticed that while the original game is still listed on the PS Store, in some countries it shows the error message “not available for purchase”. Now we should stress this is currently only happening in select regions; in the US, for example, the game’s currently still for sale like normal. It’s leading us to believe this is probably an error. We’ll check with the platform holder.

Removing the 2015 version for sale would be a strange move: not only will it attract negative press, but it’d mean the game is no longer available on the PS4 at all, which remains a very popular console. The fact that Sony decided to remake Until Dawn, even with a movie on the way, is still baffling to us – and it’s especially odd considering the release appears to have been sent out to die.

Still, that’s the situation we find ourselves in. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and update if we get a comment back from the manufacturer.
