In terms of content, we’ve never seen anything quite like Zenless Zone Zero. While the initial launch of Honkai: Star Rail was no slouch, developer HoYoverse is really putting in the overtime with its urban fantasy RPG, as there’s simply an insane amount of things to do in the upcoming v1.3, which will launch on 6th November.
The new story will centre on Section 6, an elite unit designed to deal with Hollows who you’ll already have met earlier in the campaign. “Proxies will execute a commission requested by the HIA with Yanagi and other Section 6 members,” the blurb reads. “In the meantime, the celebration of Settlement Days at the Outer Ring is about to begin. Proxies will be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere.”
There’ll be two new Special Episodes dedicated to Yanagi and Lighter, who’ll headline the banners in both halves of the update. Elsewhere, there’ll be an insane amount of events to participate in, with The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault and the Simulated Battle Trial probably the highlights. The former is a kind of roguelite, chapter-based mode – while the latter is a combat ladder where you’re tasked with climbing as high as possible.
As you’d expect, rewards will be available for everything on offer in this update. Furthermore, there’ll be a bunch of game optimisations and improvements, including some tweaks to the user interface to make everything easier to navigate, especially when it comes to filtering your Disc Drives. In addition, a new shop at Lumina Square will allow you to purchase accessories to customise your bedroom at Random Play.
