Silent Hill 2 players may have noticed a small update to the game upon booting it up. It was so tiny, in fact, that it didn't even warrant a writeup or the standard patch notes. Its primary purpose, apparently, was to remove an unfortunate subtitling snafu that resulted in Italian-language players being hit with a major story spoiler within the first 30 minutes of play. Don't worry—we won't spoil it here!
Relayed to us by PlayStation LifeStyle, Silent Hill 2 update version 1.003.000 changes subtitles shown during an early sequence in which players hear a "disturbed message" via radio, which is supposed to be incomprehensible. Instead, the subtitles shown give away a major story beat, which you can have spoiled for yourself in this thread. Ahead of launch, a group of players reported the issue to Bloober Team, who were able to get the issue fixed in time for launch day, if barely.
