If you're a fan of dropping blocks and clearing lines, Tetris Forever is shaping up to be a must-have. This next game from Digital Eclipse is the latest in its Gold Master "interactive documentary" series, charting the history of this storied puzzle game and its many iterations.
Arriving on PS5 and PS4 next month, the game includes all sorts of behind-the-scenes insight on the history of Tetris, as well as 15 fully playable titles from the series' past. One brand new edition, developed for the compilation, is Tetris Time Warp.
As you can see in the above video, Tetris Time Warp has you playing the modern game as usual, but special tetrominoes will fall into the grid. When cleared, they'll warp you back to one of three bygone eras — original Tetris (1984), Game Boy Tetris (1989), and Bombliss (1993) — for 20 seconds.
In order to return to the regular game, you'll need to complete a simple objective while in the past. In multiplayer, you can send others "back in time", where they can't attack back.
Again, it's part of Tetris Forever, which launches on 12th November for PS5 and PS4. Will you be giving this new spin on the game a try? Tell us in the comments section below.

15 nearly identical games for anything more than a tenner isn't worth it imo. Especially as, i'm assuming anyway, any hardcore Tetris fan probably already owns a Nintendo.
Looks promising to me. Love a bit of Tetris. While I think Tetris Effect is the best for one off single player experience - the euphoria of that music synced campaign is hard to beat - I still think the Gameboy version is the most addictive "just one more run" version.
Think I’m gonna wait for the PS5 pro edition

I will be getting this if it's priced sensibly. It's not gonna replace Tetris Effect for me but will probably be one of them games I'll keep installed on my PS5 at all times.
Note that the PS5 Pro version with Ray Tracing runs at 30 fps.
@Fritz167 Feck i better cancel my pre-order, cheers for the heads up 😀
Hopefully it isn’t priced too stupid
@LifeGirl If you’re just looking for a collection of Tetris games there may be better alternatives, but the heart of the Gold Master series has been the documentaries and archival material. The work they did on the Karateka and Llamasoft releases was great. It’s really the best form of game preservation I’ve seen.
