Rebellion has announced its British, conspiracy theory-filled PS5, PS4 sandbox title Atomfall will release on 27th March 2025 in a new trailer. Little of note really happens in the 68 seconds of footage, but the reveal has given way to PS Store pre-orders, confirming a launch price of £54.99 / $59.99. This marks the second game the Oxford-based developer has slated for next year, with Sniper Elite: Resistance already arriving in late January.
For those unaware, Atomfall is set during the years after the real-life Windscale disaster in England, where a nuclear fire burned for three days in Cumbria in 1957. A twist on the actual events, Rebellion's depiction has a quarantine zone set up around the area and it's your job to find out what's really going on by exploring, scavenging, crafting, and bartering your way to information.
"The area is run by the military and beset with factions, in-fighting, and a growing sense of fear. It’s up you to unravel the mystery of what happened. Explore the countryside, villages, and settlements and meet odd people, wicked cults, rogue government agencies and others along the way," the YouTube description reads.
A standard digital version is available for pre-order now, and so too is a Deluxe Edition for £74.99 / $79.99, a £20 / $20 increase over base copies. Alongside three days of early access and two supply bundles, it confirms Atomfall will receive a story expansion at some point after launch.

Atomfall, Godfall, Redfall, think that John Garvin NFT game is called something Fall as well. Honestly this one is probably going to be the best of the bunch.
Excellent, was looking forward to this anyway but seeming as it releases on my birthday it will have to be a day one birthday present
Well this triggered a long forgotten memory!
When I was a Detective working a nightshift, the night after we had had an axe murder, the suspect rang from a callbox to hand himself in. I promptly raced to where he was and arrested him. When I took him to custody, I had to do a forensic combing of his hair. The chap had long black hair matted with blood and brain matter! So, seeing a guy with an axe at a callbox brought all that back to me..! 😂
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the game. Usually enjoy Rebellion games...
Love Rebellion, been with them since AvP on the Jaguar, Dredd/Death and RT on the PS2, Sniper, ZAT and Strange Brigade. Sure they stick to a theme and the games sometimes seem reskinned but their IPs are great and really hope this new one is a success.
@Mostik SAME! will def be my birthday present to myself.
@Absymbel strange brigade was a blast with a couple friends
Every faith in Rebellion, should be good Here's hoping for some "Radiation Cam Sniper Shots TM" 😉
Love Rebellion's stuff and this looks awesome. Finally a game based in the Lake District ❤️
Any news on a physical release?
This looks very good
@Absymbel strange brigade was so much goddamn fun, probably the most overlooked co-op game ever.
@Fiendish-Beaver
That's a crazy story
Looks interesting, ill likely wait for a sale nonetheless on this one as its given away cheap elsewhere
Crazy and 100% true, @Cherip-the-Ripper. Another fun fact from that particular murder was that the first uniformed Officer to attend the report of a man with an axe at the front door of a house, raced to the scene, and when he got there the front door was open. He ran into the darkened hallway and slipped over on all the blood and gore that was on the floor. The suspect obviously wasn't there, but due to requiring scene preservation for forensics, he had to remain there until Forensics arrived, and they then made him strip to his undies as they took his uniform for forensics.
Funny what you remember from 30 years ago...
Super excited for this one. Rebellion are talented and the setting’s intriguing.
@sanderson72 Yes, there'll be physical edition as it's being listed for pre-order at several retailers like Amazon , ShopTo... I've just ordered mine:)
A chance to play in England if it was run by Nigel Farage is always an experience worth the price of admission entertainment wise, day one baby!
@Jayslow Greedfall, Titanfall, Babylon Fall etc.
Just glad to see Rebellion actually do something besides Sniper.
Sounds really good.
I was excited until I learned there were survival elements to it. I don't like things like scavenging for parts and weapon breakage.
