We've become increasingly excited for Archetype Entertainment's upcoming sci-fi RPG, Exodus, the lore for which is shaping up to be alright, alright, alright. Created by publisher Wizards of the Coast (and thus backed by the deep pockets of Hasbro), the studio also boasts some impressive talent, helmed by former BioWare senior creative director, James Ohlen (Baldur's Gate I & II, Knights of the Old Republic, Dragon Age: Origins), as well as the undeniably charming Hollywood star, Matthew McConaughey.

While Exodus is still presumably a ways out, and we've been dealing with the constant onslaught of game releases, a few evocative trailers have been allowed to bank up. There is the above Mara Yama reveal, supposedly the most terrifying enemy in the Exodus universe, as well as the below space oddities. They're really more tone-setting than anything else, but still, we'll be keeping a close eye on this one.
What do you think of Exodus, could it be the next Mass Effect, or will the actual next Mass Effect earn back that honour? Let us know in the comments section below.

I've been following all the reveals at the site closely, as this is easily my most eagerly anticipated game for a very, very long time.
For those who like reading sci-fi space operas, I heartily recommend the prequel novel, "Exodus: The Archimedes Engine" by Peter F. Hamilton.
Fantastic stuff!
Ok I'm listening. I'd not heard of this before. Fingers crossed it turns out well
Been keeping an eye on this, it's got promise. Excellent worldbuilding and some heavy hitting names behind it. Hopefully we'll get a gameplay trailer soon-ish. 🤞
@FuriousMachine I picked the book up last week when I learned of the game. Looking forward to reading it.
@VanguardKaiser Cool, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. The universe they're building is incredibly fascinating, IMO
They had me at bears
"You gotta pump them numbers up. Those are rookie numbers."
@FuriousMachine Just ordered, thanks for the recommendation. At the rate I read books these days though, this game will release before I get past chapter one!
@Ilyn they had me at “alright, alright, alright.”
I'm very interested in that one. They are doing a great effort in universe-building, and I'm here for it!!
One of my top 3 most anticipated announced games along with Gears of War: E-Day, and Expedition 33. I'm hoping that we will see 33 released next year, and expect E:Day to release in 2026 (as a launch title for the NeXtBoX). Not sure when to expect Exodus though, maybe 2026, if we are lucky, but it could be even later than that. Regardless, very much looking forward to it...
@Gooseman42 hehehe, hopefully you'll enjoy that first chapter enough to propel you through the rest of it
Will be keeping an eye on this.
@Fiendish-Beaver I dunno, I'm sort of thinking next year, maybe even first half. They've been properly ramping up the media output the last six months or so, and with the novel and tie-in episode of the upcoming "Secret Level" anthology series releasing now, it seems that a release date announcement may be imminent.
Interesting theory, @FuriousMachine. It's the lack of gameplay that has me doubting next year, but I'd love you to be right...
@Fiendish-Beaver Yeah, that is indeed a solid strike against my theory. Though, a gameplay reveal at Keighley's christmas thing with a "summer 2025" release announcement... let's pretend that isn't entirely outside the realm of possibility and more than just a fantasy dream from me
I must admit this has become one of my most anticipated games. When Matthew Mcconaughey came on stage I got a bit excited but then the trailer, while looking great, didn't tell me much about what the game would be. However all the talk of it being inspired by Mass effect quickly put it near the top of my list
I'm very excited for this game, however I find Matthew McConaughey's voice grating and unappealing. Interested in what the trailer has to say but turned it off before it got to halfway. I sincerely hope he's not narrating things in the game.
"Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow"
@FuriousMachine cool didnt know there was a book will check that out.
If this is anything like Mass Effect color me interested.
This sounds really cool; loving the very dark sci-fi world building happening here
I'll be honest Exodus is the first game ivebeen genuinely hyped for in years.
One of the most interesting things will be how they’re trying to incorporate choice and consequence across time skips. It sounds like you’ll be making decisions and then seeing their outcomes across hundreds of years, which could be really really cool. Very excited for this.
