We love order, systems, and routines, everything in its proper place. Using the PS Store for anything meaningful, then, has always been an exercise in frustration. We allowed ourselves to think that perhaps in the age of the PS5 Pro, the PS Store page specifically set aside for games enhanced on Sony's new machine might keep things straight for us. We should have known better.
Sony's list includes several games confirmed for a PS5 Pro patch, hidden amongst those that have already been enhanced by one, which is the opposite of helpful. As PSLS points out, these aren't indie games either: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Fortnite have yet to receive PS5 Pro enhancement patches despite being listed as already having them on Sony's storefront.
We aren't sure what purpose this aspirational list serves or why the PlayStation Blog is still advertising these games as having been patched in the first place; it's confusing and unorganised. If we had to guess, there appear to be a few gaps in the communication chain.

Have you been digitally gaslit by unpatched games on PS5 Pro? Are you investigating each game you play on a case-by-case basis? Let us know in the comments section below.

It's should be easy just add a icon after a update.
I keep going into the settings and checking for updated graphics options and I’ve been disappointed by the small number of games that have actually been updated.
I was thinking this when Dana Carvey was explaining the Pro in his powerpoint presentation. Fidelity and performance modes are too confusing, so here's a third option.
Can we just acknowledge that the PlayStation store front has possibly the most amateur filtering/sorting options available in any modern storefront (edit - I meant to write commercial software... because there really are some god-awful storefronts out there....how do you spell Ninten-don't?). As it is with the search/sorting/filtering on the console - why is it I can't filter out games that I have as part of PS+ monthly games - which are mine while I have membership - and those that are part of the PS+ Extra?. Also why (if I download a digital version from PS+), do I not see that I actually own the physical version as well?
And why... if I have the physical PS4 version of a game... that has an upgrade to PS5... it seems somehow to want to keep downloading the PS4 version?
Sigh... this is where we're at... and that's before you even throw in the PS5 Pro. Sony just suck at user interfaces IMO.
Digitaly gaslit? I'm not so sure that's the correct use of the term. No doubt somebody will "gaslight" me to inform me I'm wrong 🤣
@LikelySatan or a 4th... or 5th... Professional-grade gives you ALL the options. It seriously was delusional to think that giving developers the choice, would lead to the "there's no need for choice any more" option.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare yeah the user interface has always been a bit of an oddity to say the least. Whenever I put ps4 games in the drive that have been upgraded to the ps5 version (cyberpunk) it ques the ps4 version but when I actually start the ps5 version it does absolutely nothing and will not continue to download the ps4 version. It's a slight annoyance and should have been rectified straight away..
@Northern_munkey by straight away, I hope you mean about 12-24 months ago (well... actually, from the start of the generation if I'm being honest). Edit - and yes, Cyberpunk is the one that really annoyed the hell out of me. Every single time....
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare yes as soon as the ps5 launched the ui needed sorting out. You get used to it and I've never had much trouble navigating it but it does need a severe overhaul.
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare Yeah, I often run into games I wasn't aware were "free" with plus or available on PS5 at all, and sometimes run into games I didn't know were out that I'm interested in. That's my fault sometimes, but others it's a discoverability issue. I'm not advocating for AI learning on the front page or anything, but they should know that I'm not getting CoD or Madden, no matter how much they push them.
PlayStation handling of a digital library has always been a nightmare and this just adds another layer.
It is often hard to tell if you have even bought a game on the store, it is totally inconsistent, games that need discs don't always show it because you also have digital dlc, no way to tell the difference between different levels of ps plus for games etc.
So this comes with precisely zero surprise attached to it and just adds another fun layer.
@Northern_munkey I'm currently trying to catalogue games I have in library by owned/PS+ essential/others... it's a pain in the <insert orifice of choice here>. In this day and age, I can only imagine this is because their online UX is about the last thing they give a crap about... that's the only explanation as to how little they do to improve their experience. Edit - it's almost as if they don't want you to know what you've got. For instance...why when I look at PSN it tells me that I can buy a game, regardless if I have the physical copy logged on the system (der... I know the answer to that one.... but a good UX would be up-front... even if it still gives you the choice to buy digitally)
Case in point... after 4 years, why are we still not getting QoL changes that were standard on the PS4... because they're intentionally holding them back to make it seem like "oh... things are improving"...
It's Friday... it's been a long week, and perhaps I'm a little saltier than even I am normally.
I'm pretty sure Silent Hill isn't patched, however I purchased it thinking it would be based on the enhanced tag. I'll still play it but its not a good look and what's more annoying is I can't find anything from Sony or Bloober to confirm or deny
The day after release I tried the Last of Us Part I & II and didn't realize it but Part I's pro patch hadn't even shipped yet. Thankfully that was the case, because I didn't think it looked that enhanced- but after the update it certainly does. Anyway, it has been annoying games are marked but don't have the update. The Callisto Protocol supposedly is getting one and I thought it already had it, so I was disappointed there too. I'm putting dozens of hours into Black Ops 6 before it even gets the pro update too, I think.
Patch Silent Hill 2 already!
Calisto Protocol says it's updated in the store, but I don't think it actually is, it's kinda hard to actually tell what's been patched and what it planned to be patched.
Patch Notes
PLAYSTATION 5 PRO UPDATES
Black Ops 6 and Warzone are optimized for PlayStation 5 Pro:
Launch Features:
Using Sony's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Black Ops 6 supports a higher image quality when running at 4K and 60 Hz.
New PlayStation 5 Pro quality settings: higher quality shadows, ambient occlusion, reflections and screen space global illumination (unique to Quality Mode).
Players can also opt to play at 120 Hz for greater performance; on the PS5 Pro 120 Hz mode has the same image quality as the PlayStation 5 running at 60 FPS.
With Season 01:
New variable refresh rate mode that with the allows our highest image quality mode to often exceed 60 Hz on compatible display devices (120 Hz VRR).
Personally I don't feel they should put the PS5 Pro enhanced label on any game until it receives it's patch. It's annoying to see games like Silent Hill 2 saying its Pro enhanced when it clearly isn't and it just means that I'm not playing those games for the time being.
It's even more confusing when some games that have been patched, don't specifically mention the Pro in their options, so how is the average consumer meant to know what's going on?
Where is the Silent Hill 2 Pro Patch also? This is getting frustrating taking into account the cost of the console
@LikelySatan Dana Carvey! HA! I knew he looked like someone. Brilliant
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare The PS Store has ALWAYS been a gigantic mess of incorrect metadata, filtering and sorting. Ever since the orginal PS3 webpage days.
I also dislike how the PS1/PS2 Classic collection includes some remasters for PS4/PS5. I don't care about those, just show me the original retro games please.
If you want another big name - im pretty sure Resident Evil 4 Remake also hasnt been patched, and it definitely has the pro enhanced tag.
EDIT: this may have been patched, and I may have missed it, but I cant see a definitive answer on the Capcom title update web page.
Sony have been dicks really.
It’s so easy to add the Pro Enhanced icon in the store once it has been released.
Which probably takes a bit better communication and work.
So they have taken the easy option and confused us gamers.
Whilst the store is far from perfect, it shares its issues with the stores on Nintendo and Xbox which are just as bad.
As for 'pro enhanced' games im sure i was looking at a section for that just the other day? You cant sort by it though and I guess thats what some seem to be wanting. I dont get that myself, as Im buying ps5 games based on if they are any good or not, a pro patch being a benificial extra, but not a deciding factor in a purchase.
All that being said, more filtering and sorting options would definitely be welcome and it astonishes me that none of the platform holders seem to update these options well. It seems like more options would not be difficult to offer, the stores are all just databases and offering search options for databases is software 101..
@Doctor_BK
Thats not how it always works - some games eg Hogwarts Legacy, enhance the modes already there (as opposed to new or renamed Pro modes), so there would be no way of telling just from an options screen.
@OldGamer999
No argument from me.
I had given them the benefit of the doubt initially, as there were an awful amount of patches to send out - I remember mid/late last week seeing the pings come in for patches, thinking (in a good way) - another on the list to look at!
But, we are a week in, so it should have been sorted now, and only patched games should be on the list
This is the most annoying thing about owning a PS5 Pro.
Sony confirms a list of games that will be ready for launch, the store updates to show those games are enhanced. Have they been?
It's more clear-cut if a new graphical mode to select gets added but it's entirely possible the game could just detect the console you're using and provide a single setting (plus a 120FPS toggle), like how Apex Legends and Fortnite typically have worked (both don't appear to have been patched).
Then it depends on what the developer even wants to do with the patch. Both of the games I mention do run better on a Pro as you'd expect; better holding to the resolution and frame-rate caps instead of getting drops. What you hope however is that they'll implement PSSR and add in some higher graphical settings from the PC versions. More info from devs would help if Sony isn't providing any.
Thank god for the PS4 Store....
@LowDefAl
Looks like I could of missed this one then - unfortunately my on console "last updated" Date / time just shows the date an time I moved my M2 drive over to the Pro last week.
Looking online, I can see a few articles from sites I just do not trust, as I have found them talking b##### before to get clicks, and also reports / evidence of higher frame rates - but this could be a boost mode thing.
Capcoms own title update web page does not include the patch as far as I can see.
Im sure I saw no patch come down, but now Im confused like the article says lol!
I have edited my original comment. Thank you.
@Rich33 yeah it got a patch just over a week ago, it's a bit confusing as there's seemingly no information about it but the game does look noticably better than when I last played on PS5 and the framerate is unlocked, with it now able to go well above 60fps
First world problems.
Sony really has a tendency to poop the bed and roll around in the sheets.
I don't see the problem you just put the disc in the drive and play the game
@carlos82 @LowDefAl
It seems then that I missed it - I hadnt opened the game on my Pro as I had seen no patch arrive - it must have come down with something else or when i was having transfer issues last Thursday!
Thank you for the correction (no sarcasm).
The framerate boost will be most welcome for this one as I could see the dips in frame rate mode (with RT off) when I played it last, and I dont remember an uncap option - and if it was there it didnt make a big difference - which based on what I have just seen is clearly different now.
And this just proves if you cant rely on the store page, and sites like this havent covered it specifically, you just dont know unless you have opened it and played it!
@stu123
I think the Pro is not a waste of money. I think it makes no sense to wait 4 years (maybe 3 at a push) for PS6 (providing you can afford both of couse).
The one that stuck out to me (and I don't have a PS5 Pro so I can't say anything definitive here) is the PS4 Remaster for Dead Rising 2... Yes DR2, not the recently released Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster (which I believe did get a Pro Patch, also not really a Remaster imo more a Remake but whatever 🤷♂️)
@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare I agree. If I see a game on the store I might like, I have to check if I've already got it on disc. Thankfully my kids often know which games I have...but it should tell you (or give you the option to remove those results). I like the way Steam tells me if "this game, or that game" is similar to ones I own already (and which ones)...
Anyone know when the disc drives are coming back in stock anywhere , I'm not paying £180 on ebay
What would be very useful is to have PS5 Pro added to the platform filter menu in the store.
The rollout of the new console has been disjointed at best.
I'm just here waiting on an ESO PS5 Pro update. Although, it truly is a PS4 game at heart so I don't know how much better it can run.
There has been a lot of discussion around the industry about how to grow the user base, how to beat competitors, how to grab the attention of the newer generations and so on.
Even though these are all valid concerns, it is bewildering that Sony can't get the fundamentals right. This Pro enhanced confusion is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how bad the PlayStation Network user interface is. Especially the web front-end.
I have experienced numerous times the unforgivable issue of using the search function for a particular game and coming out with no results, or with suggestions that have nothing to do with what I was looking for. And that often happens even when I type the exact word match. Sure, it doesn't occur with big games, but it's incredibly common with smaller titles, especially VR which I search a lot.
How can this be?
@khayl diablo iv is stated to have a ps5 pro patch but nothing is different in game yet. silence from the developers as well other than a few tweets announcing a patch but no details 🤔😤
Bought Silent Hill 2 because it said PS5 Pro Enhanced. I was fighting with Sony for a refund and they said they cannot because I already downloaded and started the game. Had to throw ACCC at them for false advertising. Now got my money back. Bunch of liars they are. If ACCC find out Sony is advertising more games with false pretences they could face mass fines
I was expecting the GT7 patch on launch day. There are still obvious improvements though even without it
In recent years Sony only knows how to continuously raise prices for it's products and services, and how to invest less and less in their quality...
PS+ as a whole, PS Store (des)organisation, Dual Sense battery life, PSVR2 portfolio, PS5 Pro - the 800 Euros "premium console" with 2 cheap pieces of plastic as a stand and no disk, the Bravia TV line that's double in price compared to the direct competition, the top of the line WF-1000XM5S ear buds that have a case made of the cheapest plastic they could find..... and the list can go on.
Patience? A little bit of research? HELL NO IM GOING TO CRY ON THE INTERNET INCESSANTLY
So what games are OFFICIAL enhanced for the PRO?
Can anyone confirm a list.
2 points to make here.
1. It has been a pain to determine if a game has actually had a patch vs having once announced but not delivered.
2. If you need something to tell you its updated, does it really matter? It cant be that significant.
@Stonergamer Determining which games are announced isnt an issue, just the ones that actually have been implemented. Id like a list of those....
@carlos82
Apologies for the belated response, but I only tried RE4 Remake last night. You are quite right - the framerate and maybe visuals (its been a long time since I last played) are much improved.
With 120hz VRR the game is night and day above the base PS5 version, and I have no idea why this game patch isnt getting more mentions (when we keep hearing about a couple of bad patches from poor devs). Thank you.
