PlayStation Event Rumour

We're now a couple of months removed from the last State of Play — the one with Ghost of Yotei — and so we're starting to see eager PlayStation fans clamouring for another event.

The good news is that we might be getting one. While there hasn't been any official word on the subject — what else do you expect from this generation's ultra-secretive Sony? — we do have a tease from one of the industry's most reliable insiders.

billbil-kun, who has a frankly outstanding track record when it comes to PlayStation-related leaks, says that "fresh news" is coming — although he doesn't fully commit to saying that an actual event is on the horizon.

The French-speaking leaker writes: "A PlayStation event is really happening soon? I don't have the answer, but many PlayStation stuff are being prepared behind the scenes."

Earlier this month, fans latched onto a PlayStation ad that seemed to suggest such an event — but Jeff Grubb, another of the industry's most prominent insiders, was quick to put a dampener on things. He basically advised against hoping for a December show.

So what's going on? Honestly, trying to anticipate Sony's next move is near impossible these days — especially when it comes to public-facing information. But if billbil-kun says that something's happening in the background, then we're inclined to believe him.

As always, we'll just have to wait and see...
