Until Dawn PS5 PlayStation

Released last month, we dinged the Ballistic Moon-developed, Sony-published PS5 remake of Until Dawn in our review for shipping, inexplicably, with a maximum framerate of 30fps when the PS4 original was capable of 60 with PS5 backwards compatability. Well, better late than never, we suppose; Performance and Fidelity Mode have arrived for both PS5 and PS5 Pro, although the exact technical specifications remain unknown.

You can check out the full notes for Patch 1.06 here, and the update is now live. The highlights are definitely the aforementioned Performance and Fidelity Modes, which "prioritise fps" and "prioritise graphics," respectively. Other notable improvements include a "fix for Ashley breathing too loudly," a "fix for Sam's face appearing swollen during the Chris introduction," and "adjustments to the intensity of Matt's scared facial animation."

Do you think Sony was unwilling to wait to release the game, perhaps wanting to make the most of those spooky October sales? Does the prospect of dedicated graphical options make the Until Dawn remake more appealing? Let us know in the comments section below.
