Update []: Publisher SEGA has confirmed that the new Demon Slayer game is coming to both PS5 and PS4 in 2025. We've also got an official announcement trailer, which you can watch above.
The Hinokami Chronicles 2 will carry on from where the first title left off, with the sequel's story mode covering the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc.
Meanwhile, the character roster includes everyone from the first game — even the DLC additions — plus some fresh faces from the aforementioned story arcs. That's at least 20-something characters; a jump from the base roster of 18 in its predecessor.
Original Story: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles is getting a sequel — and we can't say that we're surprised.
Released for PS5 and PS4 in 2021, The Hinokami Chronicles adapts the early story arcs of super-popular manga and anime property Demon Slayer into the form of an arena fighter. It was developed by CyberConnect2, the studio behind the Naruto Ninja Storm games, and the mechanical similarities are clear to see.
It's a decent brawler, but as we said in our review, it felt like a foundation for a bigger and better sequel. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles 2 should be that sequel.
However, there's nothing of the project to show just yet. It'll debut at Jump Festa 2025 — which takes place in Japan later this month, on the 21st and 22nd of December. Platforms will no doubt be confirmed during the event as well.

Really enjoyed the first one, so I am looking forward to this.
Need to get back to the first one, started with the story mode, and then realized how closely it followed the arcs and just was not in the mood at the time. I will dive back in at some point next year I am sure.
They should just wait until the finale movies are out and have all the characters in the series available for the roster, but I guess they wouldn't be able to sell a whole bunch of DLC if they did that.
I'm surprised they haven't milked this series into oblivion at this point
@Drago201 Probably because the manga already ended 4 years ago and the author didn't provide original material that can lead to plenty of games adaptation. It's the opposite of Naruto, DBZ, or One Piece.
really liked the first one and it even got some decent DLC support. That said, with the story so close to ending I thought they'd wait till they could just make a game with everything in it.
Just platinumed the first game recently. Good Anime Fighting Game with gorgeous Cel shading Graphics.
Color me surprised.🥱
The first one was ok to good. I hope this will have a better fighting system. They should make it more lile storm2. That games gameplay was perfect
I would love to see some sort of gameplay.
It'll probably include the final season in the game. As it's coming out next year and the movie might be out by then.
