Sandfall Interactive has today announced its debut RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will release for PS5 in just a couple of months, on 24th April 2025. You can catch the new trailer revealing the launch date above.
Here's a recap of the intriguing story setup for Expedition 33, which employs flashy turn-based combat: "Once a year, the Paintress wakes and paints upon her monolith. Paints her cursed number. And everyone of that age turns to smoke and fades away. Year by year, that number ticks down and more of us are erased. Tomorrow she’ll wake and paint “33.” And tomorrow we depart on our final mission — Destroy the Paintress, so she can never paint death again."

Here's a selection of new screenshots:
Created in Unreal Engine 5, digital pre-orders on the PS Store will go live today, and there's also a physical collector's edition available containing items like a music box and an artbook. Will you be playing Expedition 33 this April? Let us know in the comments below.

Looking forward to this! Looking forward to everything shown at the show
Wasn't at all excited before, but today's presentation won me over. Will play it on gamepass day one.
Omg..That looks breathtakingly beautiful, Awesome..Cant wait..
Happy Birthday to me!!
I cannot wait for this game and I'm glad that I won't have to wait much longer.
As I'm never getting a legend of dragoon sequel or remake this'll have to do
Been very much looking forward to this. Between this and Doom, I have much to look forward to.
N.i.c.e.earlier than a lot of people taught.clair obscur is gonna be a instant hit.word up son
Argh, shame this clashes with Lunar Remastered Collection's release! Glad it's out early than expected though!
My god, that looks incredible.
Best game of the show in my opinion, but will still wait for reviews.
This looks so weird in the best way possible. I am ready to sail like a snail!
Definitely playing this one right away. Looking really fantastic and unique. Looking forward to it!
On the US PSN store, it already has a 10% discount on the pre-order, not that I would ever recommend anyone pre-order anything ever, but if you are going to anyway, you might as well save a few bucks.
Day one buy for me
This looks really superb. But I have a concerns about the performance, even in that trailer things looked a little choppy - I wonder if the frame rate might be a bit inconsistent.
But the art style, the weirdness, the graphics, the gameplay, the characters all seem very, very promising. I won’t preorder, but I will keep money back for when reviews and a patch or two drop
So soon! Excellent!
Very excited for this one!
Probably going to play on the Pro. It looks good.
This has been on my wishlist for a long time, glad to see it'll be out fairly soon. And shortly after my birthday, thank you for the gift universe!
Woah! This looks awesome!!
Been on my wishlist since it was first announced!
Looks cool and hope it finds an audience. Definitely something I'll keep an eye out for on sale later on, assuming it reviews well.
Looks good but turned based puts me off it unfortunately
Looks so good!
Looks fantastic, as it should with them using Unreal Engine 5.
Like others have said, hopefully this finds an audience. When even big AAA games struggle to find an audience, you know it's an uphill battle from the start for games from smaller developers. Obviously I hope it turns out to be good at least, or none of it really matters anyways.
Look fantastic. I love that it's only going to be 35-40 hours.
Yeah I think I’m day 1 buying this. Let’s go!
im glad people are excited for this game it looks amazing , hopefully it does well.
I'll be buying in to support this very cool Western attempt at a JRPG-style game, although the release timing means it'll have to wait to be played until I'm done with Lunar.
April is looking to be an awesome month.
Finally it has a release date. I am so excited for this game. I don't think I have been this excited by a new IP in years. The story. The combat. The graphics and design. The whole lot looks epic. Roll on 24th April
Loved the look of this when I first saw it and I really enjoyed the new footage. It looks a little framey in parts, hopefully they can iron that out before release but I'm excited for this.
I love how RPGs are becoming more prominent than FPSs. Sucks that I can’t play them all!
This looks great. Why is it only 49.99? I’m not complaining lol but I’m just surprised by the price.
@guacguacboo
The guys are just cool like that.

This sounds too good to be true from an indie game. I will wait for reviews.
I hope this turns out as good as it looks… Pro support would be nice also!
