The Monster Hunter Wilds hype machine is beginning to spin up ahead of the game's full release at the end of February (Capcom is holding two open "beta" sessions in the coming weeks, as well). While we patiently wait, courtesy of IGN's First initiative, we've got not one but two nine-minute gameplay trailers to hold us over in the meantime.
The extended clips show off some impressive hunting action against the grotesque Rompopolo and the fiery Ajarakan. Things have come together nicely, looks like, and Wilds should satiate hungry fans. IGN teases that it has more exclusive gameplay and interviews to go in January, so if you can't resist Wilds content, we'll be keeping an eye out in the coming weeks.

Are you looking forward to Monster Hunter Wilds? Can you believe Monster Hunter World, the last "mainline" release, came out seven years ago? Prepare yourself for hunting season in the comments section below.

Haven't played these game before. The combat looks a bit laborious and drags on too long. Is taking down these Monsters more fun that it looks?
@ECharles Yup, it takes some getting used and finding the weapon you're most comfortable with but it's a great time once you're breaking parts and slashing off that tail.
Excited for the changes to switch axe and the second beta! I want to utilize that counter more.
Can’t wait for full game. My teammates all around the world is getting pumped.
@ECharles It is part of the gameplay. Fights are about grinding the monster to break it to the point it is too weak to fight back and then you can kill it or capture it. Usually the monster will run away and you have to track it and find it again to continue the fight. It’s basically a hunt and it can be like that for 1 hour. Usually a mission is about killing/capturing a new kind of monster and you need more powerful weapons and armors, etc… things get very interesting when multiple monsters appear, they fight together to get your pray or team against you … it’s addictive and fun!
