2K has today formally revealed PGA Tour 2K25, releasing next month on 28th February 2025 for PS5. Tiger Woods, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Max Homa have been revealed as the three cover stars of the game's three versions, which start at a base £64.99 / $69.99 edition and work up to a Legend Edition for £104.99 / $199.99. Check out the new trailer above.
Since there was no PGA Tour game last year, this is actually the first golf title from 2K Sports since PGA Tour 2K23, meaning it's packing a little more than usual. The 2025 edition includes the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and The Open Championship for the first time in series history. Then, the EvoSwing mechanic has been overhauled with "new shot types, ball flights, roll physics and visual improvements". MyCAREER is said to be more immersive and customisable, and a more diverse suite of creation tools.
At launch, the game will have 11 professional golfers, including the three cover stars and players like Justin Thomas, Tony Finau, Lydia Ko, Tom Kim, and Brooke Henderson. There'll be 29 golf courses included at launch, with new additions being the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club, the 2025 PGA Championship at Quail Hollow Club, and The 153rd Open at Royal Portrush Golf Club. During Season 2 of the game, The Old Course at St. Andrews will arrive.
In a press release, senior vice president at 2K Sports, Dennis Ceccarelli, said: "We are beyond thrilled to showcase the best golfer of all time in Tiger alongside two of today’s top golfers on the TOUR with Matt and Max. The development team at HB Studios delivered an innovative experience for casual and hardcore golf fans alike, featuring new archetypes, iconic major tournaments including the 'Home of Golf' with St. Andrews, and so much more."
Anyone who pre-orders PGA Tour 2K25 on the PS Store across any of the three versions will receive a free digital copy of PGA Tour 2K23. Are you looking forward to the return of golf on PS5? Let us know in the comments below.

It's the same old crap
Will wait to see if EA offer anything. Much preferred their offering.
I never thought I'd say this but I actually prefer EA's latest PGA Tour game over the last few PGA Tour 2k games (and by extension, The Golf Club games). If this is just more of the same, I doubt I'm going back to it.
Mark me as a surprised fan of the EA PGA Tour. I played 2K23 and although it was OK, PGA Tour is just a better game.
Agree with everybody above, much prefer EA PGA tour, but EA don't seem to care about the franchise... so many problems with the last game that would be such easy fixes (like balls running through the rough like it was the fairway), but EA never bothered...
I really enjoyed both 2K's and EA's latest offerings for a golf game so I'm positive I'll pick this up. I'm just happy to see golf games are back! They are pretty much the only sports games I have interest in for the most part.
I'm delighted the 2k game is getting more licenses because I find their offering far more engaging than EA's game. The swing mechanic is brilliant and the series looks like it's going from strength to strength.
Nice to see The Old Course. My younger brother’s up there for uni and says there’s roughly a million guys in cowboy hats a week playing that course.
Didnt know this was coming, hope they've improved the gfx. EAs game was terrible, hated it
Also didn't know this was coming out. Enjoyed 2k23 more than EA PGA.
They need to make it more like golf games used to be with progression. I miss unlocking all the special balls and clubs to hit monster shots and stat points. And all the fantasy courses from all the old TW games.
I have played all the golf club incarnations and I loved them all. I platinumed 2k23. I bought E.A's Road to the masters and I didn't really get on with it until they added the 60fps option then I really got into it. I like the fact that the irons and driver I use in real life to play golf are in the game. The only gripe I have with E.A's offering is that it's nothing the ps4 couldn't do and I feel that E.A. can do so much better graphically so I think this time I'll wait and see what E.A. bring to the table.
I'm up for this but it will be a rental, I enjoyed 2K23 so this one should be good too.
New Everybody's please.
@Andy22385 yeah, I really liked those RPG style elements from the mid '00s-era TW games; building up your golfer over time with stat-boosting gear and equipment was so satisfying.
Also I wonder if they're going to implement some sort of save migration for owners of the previous game? The one thing I felt the old Tiger Woods games lacked was a way to continue your progress between games; starting from scratch every time was a bit deflating.
@Andee also the arcadeyness and the fact those games didn’t treat everything so seriously. Unlocking the old dude in the kilt and stuff was just fun. I played those games a lot as a kid despite not even being into golf at all!
@Totheteeth oh yeah, same! Have you tried Everybody's Golf? I find it just arcadey enough without losing the core integrity (something I've read the new Mario Golf suffers from), and it has a really great character/career mode.
