Forever Entertainment has today confirmed its The House of the Dead 2: Remake will release on PlayStation systems in Spring 2025, roughly five years after it originally confirmed that the project was in the works. A new trailer shows off the enhanced version, which features "faithful" gameplay and remastered graphics and music. Check it out above.

While the trailer only uses the wholesale PlayStation logo, it's expected the remake will come to both PS5 and PS4. The remake of the first game came to PS4 initially, but was then ported to PS5 later on. Here's a selection of screenshots to go alongside the trailer:

"In February 2000, a small city was suddenly overrun by hostile creatures. Two AMS agents, James Taylor and Gary Stewart, were sent to investigate. Upon arrival, they noticed the situation resembled the Curien Mansion incident from 1998. Determined to uncover the source of the infestation, they began shooting their way through hordes of creatures."

The remake of the second game will likely receive similar treatment to the first remake, which we called a "faithful arcade recreation" upon its PS4 launch. We could only award a 5/10 rating in our The House of the Dead: Remake PS4 review, however, due to "fluffy" controls and ugly menus. "It’s a valiant effort, and an impressively authentic recreation all-in-all, but it just doesn’t hold up from a modern perspective – especially without a lightgun in-hand."
