Stunlock Games' gothic vampire action game, V Rising, has passed an impressive sales milestone, with the dev announcing that it had sampled the contents of more than five million wallets. This is a remarkable effort and was achieved quickly, too. Launched in Steam's Early Access in 2022, the full release began on PC in March and came to PS5 in June 2024.
To celebrate, the developer has teased a "big update" in 2025 that will "redefine the vampire experience." This update will include a new biome, another enemy faction, and a revamped progression system. Non-lethal PvP options, such as duelling, are also being investigated.
Were you among the flock that took to V Rising? What do you think of the vampire action game? Are you looking forward to 2025's big update? Rest assured that vampires will never hurt you in the comments section below.

Nice. Been considering picking up the castlevania edition.
@KundaliniRising333 is this actually any good? I was interested at first because it looked like the original legacy of kain but with a splash of diablo. But then I saw the whole castle building management part and it just put me off mainly because it bores me to tears.
@Northern_munkey I'm not 100%t sure but many have really liked it, including some that don't like survival/build gimmicks. Which I definitely don't.
You know when you just get a feeling that a game is one you will like. For some reason I get that feeling with this one. Just haven't caught up enough on backlog yet to get to it, however I plan to pick this one up before the sale ends.
I got turned off by the camera controls, but it's been creeping back into my thoughts lately, so I might give it another go.
@WavesOfActivity that is main issue why I stopped to play it. I dont like it
Always nice to hear a success story. I think I may give it a go, when it's cheap enough.
One of my favorite games of last year. It's got a good grind both in character and for building castles but you can make it easier on yourself with the custom game settings. For instance feeding your castle blood, instead of it decaying in hours it can be weeks. You don't miss too much playing solo either, and even if you do get raided in multiplayer it's not half as bad as being raided in Rust, DayZ or even Conan. I was on there day one and never ran into a bug or glitch, I don't even think I ever had the game crash.
I'm going right back to that game for the new update, the world itself is already very big with lots of enemy variety so a new biome will be the cherry on top. I might even move one of my castles there. I actually preferred it to Diablo 4, it did enough differently to really hook me in for weeks. I'm glad to see the developers are still adding to the game and expanding the playerbase, it could have used more advertising on console. I both do want to play it now, and also to wait for the new update.
@Northern_munkey You'll be able to throw a castle up in no time at all. To make a room you just drop down some foundations, walls, a door and a roof, it sounds like a chore but the building system is fast. You don't have to worry about windows either because sunlight kills you. You do eventually need crafting rooms but again you just throw down some walls, you get a bonus if you use a foundation that boosts that particular craft and the boost is always worth it. You can adjust your inventory carry limit too (it really helps) you can also take slaves, pop them in prison and then sip on them from time to time, there are bonuses depending on the type of human your drinking from too (like a tank/rogue etc) overall it's got a very intuitive and straight forward building system, they keep it like that so it doesn't take too much time away from combat.
@GirlVersusGame @KundaliniRising333 thanks for the info..I might have a punt on it.
@Northern_munkey it's very good indeed. Worth checking out. I got it as a Christmas present and it's in my favourite games of 2024. You can play in your own private server or online with pve and Pvp servers.
@WavesOfActivity I had that issue but trust me that goes away when your used to it.
@CreepingShadow 👍
