Monster Hunter Wilds is almost upon us. It will be released on PS5 tomorrow, February 28th. Series fanatics will likely want to start playing the second servers go live. Capcom understands this all too well and has confirmed the precise global release times so that prospective hunters can immediately get to hunting. Quick PSA: If your copy arrives early, physical owners must download a 15GB update to play.
On console, generally speaking, the appointed time that Monster Hunter Wilds will become playable is at 12am, Friday, 28th February. Not every timezone plays by the same rules, however, and some geographically blessed players will be able to jump in later tonight, Thursday, 27th February, play for a bit, and still get a decent night's sleep, depending on your level of self-control.
Interestingly, it's not those of us in Oceania who are sneaking in ahead of the appointed time; instead, it's the turn of West Coast residents of North America to enjoy a few hours of unofficial early access. Players in the PST timezone can fire up Monster Hunter Wilds from 9pm Thursday; the rest of the world will have to wait for their respective clocks to tick over to midnight. Check out when your part of the world can start playing below:
Will you be diving in the second server goes live? Do you have responsibilities that prevent you from doing so? Remember: the early bird skins the Rathalos in the comments section below.

Yep, I'll be diving into Wilds in 26 hours and 41 minutes. Hoping for solid performance, and perhaps a couple of challenging fights in the early-to-middle bits (a la Anjanath in World)
I'm currently sitting in A & E with a suspected broken wrist. I have this preorded. I'm praying I can actually play it....
@Jey887 Damn that sounds horrible, hope you will still be able to play it.
I shell most likely still be awake at midnight so i will no doubt put an hour or two in before going to sleep.
Pre loaded now. Ahh i can’t wait
@Jey887
Time to pick up one of those accessibility controllers. A busted wrist isn't an excuse to stay out of the fight, hunter!
@DennisReynolds Yep it's broken. My first question was can I still play my playstation? They called me sad and then did me a customised cast so I can still hold a controller. God bless the NHS.
Just pre-ordered the game because I got a refund for KCD2 that is still technically unplayable on PS5 three weeks after launch. Definitely hyped for some hunt!
Yeah I first got it on PC but then refunded and got it on PS5 Pro instead. I live in Japan so I want to play it 14 hours earlier than the PC version.
Also I have some FOMO because there are already some PS5+Japan exclusive collabs coming.
@Jey887 At least you can still play.
@B0udoir Unplayable? What issues did you have?
@Jey887 gotta be more gentle with the wrist action bro 👀 wishing you a speedy recovery!
@DennisReynolds sound stuttering. A wide spread problem on base PS5. Basically each time you do an action, there are "holes" in the music and sound effects. Even moving through the main menu with the up and down buttons stop and restart the sound. Unless you play without sound, it's unbearable. Everybody is angry but the bug is still not fixed
@VaultGuy415 as someone who got an early copy, you’ll be very pleased by the latter. I can’t speak for base ps5 but the pro runs pretty much flawlessly barring some odd texture loading issues. There are certain areas that change during key moments and after reverting to normal textures will sometimes just not load.
There’s a great amount of detail overall and I didn’t realized how much I missed gassy simians.
@B0udoir I'm guessing its not an issue on the Pro as i haven't had that issue. Hopefully its gets fixed soon for base PS5 though.
My copy is arriving today 😁 wooo! Should be playing in a couple hours.
My pre-load is ready on PS5 Pro. Probably won’t get to play until about 6:00 PM Eastern standard time US on Friday.
Monster hunter wilds is a amazing video game. Just like monster hunter 🌎 worlds.word up son
@DennisReynolds yes from what I have seen on forums, that issue concerns the base PS5. PC people as well have trouble with the sound. But I don't care, Monster Hunter is coming tonight, so hyped!
