Shuhei Yoshida has officially left Sony after an awesome 31-year career with the company, and while he hasn’t retired from games entirely, he’s enjoying his new-found freedom. Recently, we’ve heard him speaking candidly on a slew of different podcasts.
And in an interview with Japanese publication Gamer.ne.jp, he revealed that now he has a bit more autonomy, he’d appreciate an invite to Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto.
“I’ve never been,” he exclaimed. “I’d love to visit someday!”
Yoshida went on to explain that, while running PlayStation’s indie initiative, he had a great relationship with Yusuke Soejima, who has a similar role at Nintendo.
He added that both platform holders are committed to “promoting and popularising indie games”, so they don’t consider each other rivals to quite the same extent as some fans may expect.

Did he actually say he is "desperate", though?
@naruball Fair, I over-egged that. Have edited.
I am actually surprised he's never been.
I have visited Nintendo of America in Redmond (before hopping over to the Microsoft City...err...Campus). I almost got a tour (someone at the bar of the hotel I was staying overheard me talking about my desire to visit NOA and linked me up with a Nintendo recruiter), but, sadly, she wasn't in the office the free day I had that week (I was in Seattle for a conference).
Still, it was honor to just walk into the lobby.
Weirdest place I went to was Rare's HQ near Twycross/Atherstone in the Nintendo days.
The walls were plastered with all the original artwork for the Ultimate: Play The Game Spectrum titles; Jet Pac, Sabre Wulf, Knight Lore, Underworld, the lot!
Hurry up miyamoto, offer shu a tour! (Please invite me too!)
nintendos HQ looks like a jailhouse. who would’ve thought a company that produces family games has a headquarters like a jailhouse. those employees must be in a sweatshop in there 😂
