Stressful survival driving sim, Pacific Drive, has passed an impressive sales milestone. Developer Ironwood Studios' debut release sold one million units, and considering that around 35 people worked on it during the peak of development, that's quite the upsell on the reasonably priced vehicle.
Launching last February, Ironwood has not remained idle. Subsequently, the developer has released three updates for the game and a string of cosmetic DLC. The developer reminds us that a fourth update, the biggest and "most substantial," is still en route, so pack your favourite snacks and prepare yourself for that.
Did you pick up a copy of Ironwood's wonderfully weird survival driving game? Do you think that means a sequel from the studio, or would you rather it chart a new course? Slam the pedal to the metal and tear off into the comments section below.

I picked up a physical copy months ago and tried it. Enjoyed it but then FF14 and other things got in the way.
Once I get done with the new Yakuza game coming out this Friday, Pacific Drive is near the top of my backlog to get back to!
Good milestone. I suspect a strong financial boost in the form of ps+ essential/extra money won't be far off.
Best game of 2024. Long live the Car-P-G! I would love to see a sequel.
Good for them. Always glad to hear an indie game being a success.
It's a wonderful game. Very immersive and creepy. Great sense of progression when building up your car too. Just wish there was more of it which, hopefully depending what this next update is, is not too far away.
Waiting for it to hit ps plus.
I rarely pick up indie games new, mainly due to money issues at the moment. However, I did pick this and Shadows of Doubt up digitally on release date. Zero regrets on buying either of them. Though I wish I had more hours to sink it to them. They are both high up on my backlog of games to play.
A future classic! I do hope for a PS5 Pro enhancement. Would be the icing on the cake.
Great sales for a smaller team, well done Ironwood.
@Sveakungen I did try it on the pro a month or two ago, and it did seem a bit better. I really need to replay it, such a great game, really reminded me of STALKER
Good milestone for a good indie game.👌
