Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has been out for a good few weeks now, giving players of the reactive RPG plenty of opportunities to test the imagination of the devs over at developer Warhorse Studios. With most quests offering a surprising number of resolutions, some designers were growing concerned that their own might never be discovered. Spoilers, especially for the main quest, Taking French Leave, to follow!
A surprisingly poignant subplot in KC: DII is the relatable claustrophobia Henry's master, Sir Hans Capon, develops after being buried in the rubble of a destroyed tower, having unfortunately found himself on the receiving end of The Finger of God, a powerful bombard cannon. This subplot pops up repeatedly, but things come to a head in the main quest, Taking French Leave, when Henry must (surprise, surprise) once again ride to Hans' rescue and liberate him from captivity in Maleshov Castle.
There are an impressive number of ways this can be done, and the quest itself can play out differently; one route is extremely obvious, and yet it never occurred to us in our playthrough (perhaps we just aren't psychotic enough). On X, Warhorse PR manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling shared a clip of one such direct method titled "Instantly Cure Hans' Claustrophobia", which, while not wholly accurate, sure is effective:
Long story short, Hans will baulk at the prospect of escaping via a convenient, constrictive tunnel. Other options include fighting your way clear (stealing swords for Hans and Brabant optional), or stealthing your way to the stables and riding off into the sunset. Or, you know, you could simply choke poor old Sir Hans out and drag him through the tunnel, permanent trauma be damned. Of course, there is even unique dialogue to account for the act: well-played Warhorse!
Did you drag Hans through his literal worst nightmare to make good your escape? Have you found any creative resolutions of your own in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II? Let us know in the comments section below.

Might have been nice for Henry to ask permission 1st...
Lol
Hans is one of the most obnoxious video game characters in recent history, and I was severely disappointed that there was no option to permanently end him.
Love stuff like this. Just finished KCD2 today and I'm itching for more. Whatever is next for Warhorse after the DLC better take less than 7 years like the gap between 1 and 2. I need more of this in my games.
I'm still playing KCD2, but I was thinking of playing a truly honourable Henry playthrough next time around. I reckon it would be tough.
I’m been playing as honorably as I can — I always do with RPGs — but I have done some deplorable stuff that I’m not proud of. With that said, I did a side quest last night that had me rescuing someone’s brother from a band of Cumens. After butchering my way through them and reuniting the brothers, I learned that one of their housemaid’s left and never came back after catching one of them “tugging their tugbone”. It was hilarious, and of course I couldn’t reply with any serious answers during dialogue choices.
I wish I knew this was possible I was getting so mad he wouldn't go in the tunnel and it was such a bitch to get out of there stealthily lol
I just completed the game for the first time last night, and safe to say I will be going straight to my 2nd play through, the game is a 10/10.
So a slightly more aggressive form of what the A-Team did to B.A. Baracus in practically every episode
