A professional skateboarder has stated that he's set to appear in an upcoming Tony Hawk video game remaster project.
In an appearance on the Breakfast Club podcast (embedded above), Tyshawn Jones claims he's going to be in a new game in the fan favourite skateboarding game series.
"I'm in a Tony Hawk coming out, so, that's cool," he says. "They got a new one they remastering so that's about to come out. I was in the last one."
Indeed, Jones was part of the playable roster in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2, the remake collection of the first two titles in the franchise.
This claim comes following teases from Tony Hawk himself around the game series' 25th anniversary. It really does seem as though something is on the way.
Fans have been hoping that THPS 3 and 4 will get the same treatment as the earlier games — especially in light of a report claiming publisher Activision rejected a pitch for exactly that. Still, Jones' wording suggests 3 + 4 really may come to light, or perhaps it's a remaster of some other entry, like Tony Hawk's Underground.
Anyway, we can be fairly confident in saying there's more THPS goodness heading our way. What do you want to see from a new game in the series? Tell us in the comments section below.

Fingers crossed, loved replaying through 1 and 2 remake!
Hopefully the soundtrack is staying the same. Iconic and memorable soundtrack if it is 3 and 4
Everyone knows that Tony Hawk's underground is the goat of skate boarding games.
Played 3 and 4 a lot on PS1. That soundtracks are seared on my soul. Specialy 3, this one I did a full 100%, completed the carrer with all characters and got all gaps, unlocking Wolverine. I did it with 2 friends, a amazing shared memory.
I expect this to be a 3+4 remaster, for which I'd certainly be pumped for.... but I am really really hoping it turns out to be THUG
@Oram77
Skate!
YESSSSSSS
(Also 3+4 makes no sense, they play completely differently)
Aggressive Inline !!
Ready for more thps, genuinely the remake of 1 and 2 was perfect. Keep them coming.
Really hoping it's 3+4. 1+2 were really fun remasters.
I still have my fingers crossed for an Airblade remake.
You want to talk about games that changed your life? Either they just had an extraordinary impact, resonated deeply with you on a thematic/story level, or the gameplay was just something that so absolutely freakin’ clicked for you? THPS3 is one of those for me.
The combination of updated skating gameplay (lip "grab" tricks like Boneless and reverts were added to this game for the first time—both were retro added to THPS 1+2 HD) and the amazing soundtrack just clicked on such a profound level. I was so addicted and I loved this game so much. An HD version (with most of the soundtrack returning, please) would be so divine.
THUG 1 and THUG 2 please please please
@Veritas7Ax Yep, I love 3. I still play it on my PS2 regularly and it's probably the game I go back to on my PS2 most often. Other than Timesplitters series multiplayer over the LAN with my nephew and mates. That's a ton of fun!
This is the series I spent the most time playing back on PS1 and PS2. 2, 3, 4, THUG, AW. I fell out with Project 8 at PS3's launch (don't remember why). I absolutely love the 1+2 remake, but this is exciting news for me because 3 was my all-time favorite, followed closely by 4. THUG was amazing too. Also THUG2 Remix on PSP.
3 was the peak of the series for me, hopefully we get the remakes we should have years ago.
3 was a lotta fun and saw me through some interesting times, but life got in the way of me becoming engrossed in 4. Will still be first in the queue for this one, 1+2 were as close to perfect as one could hope for.
@freddquadros 3 and 4 were PS2 games
At this stage, is it a given that ALL Microsoft owned studios future games are coming to Playstation?
Edit: Going by the article and comments, the assumption seems to be that they will, although MS hasn't actually stated that.
"Case by case basis".
Please, please please let it be Underground!
Well, ain't that my favorite news of 2025 so far.
Looking forward to grind to Mad Capsule Markets and CKY again
My very first game for my PS2 was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 so yeah I am partial to that one and if it is that I will definitely be buying it.
That would make me stupid happy. Three is my fave, by far.
I started skating this year (at 41). So I'll definitely pick up the game 😁
@Horizon_Rover DOPE!
@nessisonett what you’re saying makes no sense. 1&2 played differently too.
@Skeletor85 they were on ps1 as well. Just not the best versions.
@RatmCky What are you on about? Pro Skater 1, 2 and 3 have timed runs on levels with a set of goals. Pro Skater 4 is a free roam game with an unlimited timer and individual missions. It’s one of my favourite games but it fundamentally is structurally different to the first 3 games.
@Skeletor85 There were PS1 versions, I had them.

@nessisonett right… so it would be impossible to package together… got it. O by the way, don’t check the newest article that corroborates it lol.
@RatmCky It’s more just a bizarre mishmash of two very different experiences.
