For the new crop of fans, FromSoftware is all about Elden Ring and Bloodborne. But the Japanese developer has a long history on PlayStation, and you’ll be able to explore some of its origins with PS Plus Premium later this year.
Sony announced during its State of Play livestream that three Armored Core titles will release in 2025: Armored Core, Armored Core: Project Phantasma, and Armored Core: Master of Arena.
All three titles originally released on the PS1, with PlayStation acting as the publisher on the first game. Much like the latest game, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, these are all mech combat games – and they’re hard as hell!
Sony stopped short of sharing any additional information: we don’t know when these classics will be available or whether they’ll support Trophies. But they’re coming to PS5 and PS4 at some point this year, and will be included in the PS Plus Premium catalogue.

Hopefully they have trophy support. If they don't I could careless.
The whole PS Plus section in the show could’ve definitely been sent in an email, to make space for at least one or two other game trailers 👎🏼
This was honestly the highlight of SoP for me. As someone who grew up with the PS1 Armored Core games, this made me happy
I'm hoping to see the PS2 Armored Core games get added to the classic collection as well
@LogicStrikesAgain Were there not enough trailers for you? Haha!
@get2sammyb Haha, you’re right, there were definitely plenty! 😜
I would’ve loved to see at least one more first party trailer though. But alas, Sony seems to be sticking with their ‘keep it close to the chest’ strategy
Gameplay wise, I think Armored Core 1 wasn't age that well. But i guess it's good news for people who really wants to try very early AC games.
I was just playing these on my modded PS Classic. The controls are difficult to get used to in this day and age. Hopefully they update those. If not, it'll take about an hour or 2 before you get comfortable with the controls.
I have yet to play an Armored Core game but I have AC 2 on Ps2 and I plan to play it soon
@MKD88 They are not “remasters” they are emulated originals, as is the case with all PS+ classics. Controls are remappable via the emulator, but off hand I’m not sure if you can remap analog inputs to things that are button inputs in the original game (which includes stafing and vertical aiming).
Now we need Kings Field 1 - 4, Echo Night 1 -3, Shadow Tower 1+2, Eternal Ring
@Ken_Kaniff That's such a bizarre take. Do you really need to have a trophy to feel like you've achieved something? Can't you just enjoy the game for what it is?
