We caught this new game trailer on PlayStation's YouTube channel, and had to share.

Esophaguys is the name of this peculiar indie title, and it's a 2D action platformer for up to four players.

You play as an elderly character with the inexplicable ability to extend their neck and latch onto the environment with their teeth. With these two mechanics, you can swing through stages like a cursed Spider-Man.

In co-op, players will be able to grab each other and fling them over gaps, or chain together to create makeshift bridges — that sort of thing.

There's a single player narrative adventure to play through as well as the aforementioned co-op mode. On top of those is a set of competitive minigames, and there's even something called Masochist mode that'll really test your platforming prowess.

A neat touch is that the soundtrack is focused entirely on Jew's harp music from around the world. Meanwhile, the sound effects all originate from the human mouth, with apparently over 3,000 sounds recorded for the game.

Strange as the concept may be, we're willing to put our neck on the line and say the game looks like it could be a lot of fun. It's due for release on PS5 in Spring 2025, and can be wishlisted now.
