Monster Hunter Wilds is a big game, packed to the brim with all sorts of nightmares of evolution to hunt down and slay to harvest their valuable hides and innards. One player has documented an impressive nine-minute-long jaunt across its vast, connected zones from the back of a Seikret.
BrotherPig posted their travel log to the game's official subreddit (thanks, IGN), showcasing Capcom's incredible game world. Obviously, you'll likely want to skip it if you're sensitive to spoilers, as the odyssey begins from the Windward Plains, tours through adjacent areas, and ultimately culminates in its late-game locales and arenas.
It shows off how interconnected all these areas are, and with the sole exception of a loading screen about halfway, as our wayfarer ventures from the Oilwell Basin to the Iceshard Cliffs, it's a pretty seamless ride. Have a nice, relaxing cup of tea and check it out for yourself below:

That is pretty impressive. I'm sure I'll check it out for myself once Dynasty Warriors Origins stops being so fun.
I was very impressed to see how seamless the maps are.
The game really isn't an open world. Just a bunch of the usual MH maps connected by a corridor to mask the loading time.
If you grabbed MH world and put a corridor between each zone to mask the loading it would be the same.
Just preparing people who read stuff like this and expect a real vast open world game. That's not what this is.
Its a fantastic game with some mindboggling UI issues and gameplay choices ( not being able to run with your weapon in hands is wild)
@Cry_Zero Not being able to run with your weapon is an intentional balance choice. That's literally why Quicksheathe and Critical Draw are a thing.
I don't think the size of the world really adds anything to the game imo and would much prefer smaller more detailed areas
@Nepp67 that changes nothing imo
Still have to play a Monster Hunter game but I want to
