PS Plus Essential Games for April 2025 Announced

Robocop is awesome but this is a weird month.

JUST picked up Robocop for $10 on the weekend sale a couple weeks back. Oh well. A month of asymmetrical multiplayer with the rest of the free folk could be fun too.

Definitely hyped for Hacker's Memory. The rest are whatever.

Robocop is a great addition! One of those games I’ve wanted to try but not buy so very happy with that.

Platinumed Robocop. Was a fun game and looking forward to the expansion. Not a big fan of the other 2 tho

I don't buy games much these days due to a massive backlog and PS+ Premium, but I bought Robocop about two weeks ago.

Omg I knew it haha. Look at my comment history and I probably said like 2-3 times “I want to grab Robocop but I bet it’s gonna be free soon.” And sure enough. I just bought it last sale and there it is. I shoulda stayed with my gut but oh well. I think I only paid $8 or something, so it’s not like I feel robbed.

Ugh, next time though, gotta stick with my gut as long as possible.

FINALLY, a Digimon Story game on Ps Plus. It took years!!! Robocop is very atractive too!!

Have digimon already, wonder if that means more news on the newest one is coming soon. Robocop i always heard good things about but was never compelled to buy it

Third month in a row I have had the featured game. But RoboCop is great-especially if you grew up in that era and have some nostalgia for the character.

The developers got the world of RoboCop perfect.

I just bought Robocop in a sale a couple months ago. Decent game but I had the feeling it would pop up in the Essential tier sooner or later. Wish I had waited. Oh well, good game for those interested but haven't played yet.

Overall a win when one game interests me.

Robocop is awesome, I picked it up in one of the first sales. It’s such a good old school throwback, solid, good but nothing amazing or ground breaking. It’s a fun, good old fashioned game tho. I played it, got the platinum and will probably never play it again but it was fun all the same. Definitely worth a play through. Will definitely pick up the next one too

Another +1 on Robocop but can't complain as enjoyed getting the platinum.

Top tip: Ed209 is thick as anything, use it to your advantage 🤣

Solid games. RoboCop was fantastic and I got the platinum. I definitely recommend it, along with Terminator Resistance.

Thankfully I dodged the robocop bullet some days ago...

What a let down I wanted gta 6 and ghosts of yotei in all seriousness robocop is great no idea on digimon I don't play them games and I won't go anywhere near anything live service even if it's on ps plus so I'll pass on texas chainsaw massacre

Nice selection of double AA games, covering a lot of bases. I will definetely give RoboCop a try, maybe Digimon too, but Chainsaw Massacre will be a skip for me because it is multiplayer

In Reddit prediction thread Robocop was the most mentioned game. It felt like it was almost inevitable. That’s why I didn’t picked it up in the sale few weeks ago. Wanted to try it but only if or when it arrived on plus. A guy there also predicted Texas chainsaw.

Good selection of 2 games I already own. Think Robocop will surprise a lot of people, it was way better than expected. It's always really cool getting a game sequel to a decades old movie, like with the Ghostbusters game. Wish they would make more of these. TCM was ok.

RoboCop is amazing, platinum it last year. Can't wait for the dlc.

Robocop is the first game in a LONG time that I will be there for day 1. Just seemed like a ps plus/humble bundle title.

Great selection, my TXCM steelbook is still sealed so I'll play the Plus+ version then send the other off to be graded. Robocop was pretty obvious this month but great to see it nonetheless.

@Americansamurai1 Hell yeah!! I played all 3 on PS1, dumped humdreds of hours on them!! I remember achieving 300h on DW1, but I got the 15 medals!!

Robocop looks good fun, I doubt I'd try it otherwise. More excited for these than I was for March's offerings.

@Americansamurai1 would be nice. I doubt Bandai is ever gonna do anything with them. Those are games i really want them to target with big japan pubs. Like the Bouncer with square or something. Your not gonna put the money to bring it forward. Let us do it for u and take some cash

Well that’s a terrible month seeing as I bought Robocop a while back. It’s pretty good but the other two? Yikes, they weren’t supposed to actually go THROUGH the barrel!

Wow, not a garbage month since... forever, it seems. My friend recommended me Robocop and I often glanced at Digimon.

Not much for me here. I hear good things about Robocop, but eh, not really something I’m champing at the bit to play.
The other two are even of less interest to me.
But I’m not complaining. I’m still flush with games to play, both owned and through PS+.

Are we through yet with the asymmetrical MP horror games yet? Robocop is a win though for those who haven't played it yet.

Digimon is a great Portal game, so will give that a go.

My PS Plus Subscription ends at the end of April and they have made the decision easy to NOT renew.

Robocop is really under appreciated - it’s a fantastic game that captures the films perfectly. Janky I’m a lot of ways, but a lot of fun and surprisingly decent story. Lots of explosions too.

I didn't finish Robocop, but it was good and I don't regret buying it. Maybe this will give me the push to go back to it.

I've never heard of the other two (as games), though the Digimon name is something I'm familiar with (and not interested in). So, a "meh" month for me, but I think a lot of people might enjoy Robocop.

Terminator: Resistance Enhanced has its best offer ever today by far, will the same thing happen as with Robocop and will it be a PS Plus game next month?

Next time if you see an offer that is too good, don't trust it.

Rogue City is awesome!!! If you're a Robocop fan, you should check this out. I played it last year and was blown away. It's a simple game, but with the return of Peter Weller I was hooked. (You get extra experience for shooting people in the tenders.)

RoboCop is one of those games where most people will just fob it off.

Yet the game is actually just incredibly fun to play, not to long not to short and just brilliant.

It maybe the first game in years where I finished it and just started a new game plus straight away. I actually don't mind it being on ps plus, the developers deserve the money. Looking forward to whats next for them with the rise in sales.

Texas chainsaw massacre game looks like a dud. Digimon could be interesting, I liked the show as a kid. As far as robocop goes, was going to get it a while back, but I heard there were some pretty bad bugs on ps5, hopefully fixed by now.

Robocop seems to have gathered good reviews. PushSquare 6/10 looks out of place compared to other reviews.

I've been holding off on buying RoboCop since release because I just felt like "I KNOW this is going to be a PS Plus game"... I gave in and bought it a week ago on Steam. It's annoying when that happens. That said, I live in Japan and they seem to often replace a game and not have the game I wanted there... I could see them not having RoboCop and replacing it with some sh*t as they tend to do. Dead Space remake? Nah, here's a random ***** JRPG you've never heard of, or a top down bullet hell plane game (instead of the only game I was interested in last month)

@Alps_Stranger @wiiware where did you get this for $10.... I'm assuming that's USD - but even still, I've never seen it that cheap online. If so, that's a good deal (apart from the fact that it's now no-extra-cost)... still, having it part of 'your' collection is worth it, and by all accounts it does scratch the RoboCop itch (I was thinking hard about buying it myself... but it was always just a little too pricey for my interest)

@Oz_Who_Dat_Dare It was on sale on PSN for that much just a couple weeks ago. I think it was one of their weekend sales that was only in effect for a couple days.

@Alps_Stranger I must have totally missed it... the one thing that I would say that kinda sucks... (I'm sure most of us have been caught out on this) is when Sony drops a game into PS+ not long after it was on sale. I really wish they had a 2-3+ month exclusion time; otherwise it just feels a little grubby IMO (as I'm sure they know what games are going in months and months ahead of time). I also get that the publisers/devs aren't unhappy making some extra dosh, but still....

Anyway - congrats on getting a bargain (not so much in hindsight), but at least you did the right thing in supporting the industry.

If you like/live the film like I do, the game is f'ing awesome. Really pleasantly surprised.

I would like to know how someone who played the game but has not seen the film feels about the game?

@Flobbots I’ve not seen any of the films mate, they never really appealed to me which is part of the reason I haven’t bought the game.

It might be a while before I get to it (knee deep in Kindom come deliverance 2 atm) but if I give it a go I will let you know what I think!

Have not had a good selection for ps4 essential members for a long time now, I would leave PS+ if it was not needed for multiplayer titles.

Like many here, I’m excited to try Robocop! I wanted to check it out for the nostalgia alone since I used to love the movie as a kid, but not enough to shell out for it.
