Streamer CarnyJared has done it, successfully completing DragonForce’s infamous Guitar Hero 3 face-melter, Through the Fire and Flames, with a full combo (FC) at a truly masochistic 200% speed. This world record achievement is likely to go unchallenged for quite some time, potentially forever, so gruelling was the lead up.

Posting "IT. IS. OVER." on 27th February, CarnyJared uploaded evidence of this stunning display of pseudo-guitar dominance (thanks, IGN). After five months of practising at 180% speed, and a further nine months at 200%, the streamer has achieved eternal glory after blazing through the full 3,722 notes at a pace that defies comprehension.

At standard speed, the full instrumental live version of DragonForce's legendary display of over-the-top musicianship weighs in at over seven minutes; CarnyJared blasts through the whole thing in just over three, on a piece of plastic that was likely never intended to receive such a thrashing. Incredibly, after thousands of attempts in total, CarnyJared's successful run marks just the fourth time he has ever made it past Through the Fire and Flame's insanely self-indulgent solo without missing a beat:
