EA will reveal the next Star Wars game, a turn-based tactics experience from Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor, at Star Wars Celebration next month. The announcement will take place on 19th April 2025, as confirmed by the new panel schedule.
The description explains: "Join Bit Reactor, along with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, for a first look at a new Star Wars turn-based tactics game." Respawn Entertainment, famed for the Star Wars Jedi franchise, is working as assistor to main developer Bit Reactor, which is made up of staff from XCOM team Firaxis Games.
Very little else is known about the project, though its existence has been public knowledge since 2022. Due to the history of Bit Reactor, we may be looking at a PS5 title similar in vein to XCOM, except set in the Star Wars universe.
Respawn Entertainment will assist on the game, but it also has a third Jedi entry in the works, dubbed the "final chapter" of the series.

I will be tuned to see this. Every year I watch the Star Wars Celebration on youtube. Very curious about this game!!
Yo, a Clone Wars XCOM game sounds amazing. Something I never thought I wanted but is right up my alley! Obviously it might be something else turn based but that is what I want.
sign me up day 1 purchase for me
Love XCOM, and Gears Tactics, so am very interested to see what they do with this.
You have a typo in the third paragraph, @LiamCroft. You have THROUGH instead of THOUGH... 😉
XCOM x Star wars? sounds like a perfect combo. Would also like to see more info on Star Wars Eclipse (quantic Dream game.
Make squadrons 2 you COWARDS!
And while we are at it someone hurl money at nightdive to make DF2 JK
@Fiendish-Beaver Thanks!
i cant find a single source saying this is coming to consoles?
Ooooh this sounds good.
I enjoyed Gears Tactics which I still need to carry on with, I also really love Aliens Dark Descent.
Will it be an rts like Aliens Dark Descent or similar to Xcom and Gears Tactics?
Either style is fine for me
@Oram77
Yeah same isn’t Eclipse due out this year?
@Toot1st
Have to wait till it’s shown on the 19th of April
As much as I dont have an interest in Star Wars anymore, this sounds pretty cool. Now just let Larian make Knights of the Old Republic 3.
Yes please, I’ll take this. I wonder if it will include fighter squadrons and walkers.
Really hope this doesn't internally delay the next Jedi game
Of course. These guys could be making a Fred Flintstone turn-based tactical game and I would still be interested.
I enjoy the style of tactical games but struggle to get on with Xcom because of the time progression during the base parts.
I much prefer it in games like Shadowrun where they use the combat style only.
This is now one of my most wanted games.
Absolutely adored Midnight Suns despite card mechanics never being up my alley so this could be really good. Clone Wars XCOM is the dream but it’ll probably be Rebels v Empire again.
@Dragoon1994 @Oram77
I very much doubt Eclipse is this year. I feel like the last news we got was it was in development hell and the lead writer left the studio 🫤
I'd love to see some positive news about it, but my expectations are heavily on the "if it ever comes out" side of things.
Tactical Star wars game, hopefully with RPG elements, sign me up. Star wars games are on fire at the moment!
I have to get Midnight Suns and this game when it eventually drops. Big fan of XCOM.
I have zero interest in star wars but I love xcom, so i will take anything even remotely similar to xcom as we wait an eternity in hope for xcom 3
Would I be interested? It may be the last game I'll ever need to buy if they allow mods.
If RPG elements and FRP leveling mechanics are implemented, then I am in...
I wonder... I just wonder what it will be. With huge Xcom experience combined with movies seen dozen times, Stormtroopers accurancy will be 75% chance to hit and your team will have only 1 health point.
