A Tekken 8 and Atelier Yumia crossover? Yes, it's really happening, and we would love to know how this actually got approved.
Publishers Bandai Namco and Koei Tecmo have, for some reason, got together and decided to run a promotion between the two PS5 titles. In Tekken 8, free "costumes, special skills, and accessories" based on Yumia will be made available as part of the brawler's big Season 2 update.
Of course, Atelier Yumia is just about to launch at the time of writing, and so from that perspective, this is a prime opportunity for some additional marketing heft.
But the best part about this crossover has to be the trailer that Koei Tecmo's released. It features Yumia herself dropping a Heihachi-themed slime off a cliff, in what is a nod to Tekken's ridiculous lore. It gets even better when Yumia turns to the camera and smirks — just like Kazuya in that infamous ending scene.

After decades of rapid progress in hardware and software engineering, we have finally erased all borders between imagination and reality and thus Heihachi Slime was created
I tried that demo of Atelier Yumia. I liked the first 30 minutes. But than, the game was putting me into that huge map, where I was surrounded with 1000s of useless items to collect. At that point, my interest to this game shrunk extremely fast...
@Nintendo4Sonic pickup simulator but with anime busts. Great! I’ll just vacuum my apartment instead.
@Coffeeglitch that's not a bad idea, it's more productive than playing this game😁
The subtitle
The Atelier series has done collabs with Bamco before (and I don't mean just the 'Tales of Graces' one) so I'm not surprised, but this is still very cool.😊
The only thing that could top this is if Yumia herself gets to be a guest fighter in TK8 but I know I'm asking for too much. Hey, I can dream…
We didn’t want this crossover… we NEEDED it.
I don’t even like Tekken and found that hilarious.
OK... that smirk was terrifying. 😂
Now this is the last crossover I was ever expecting in atelier game
