The chances of a sequel ever coming out are next to nothing, but Astro Bot has at least taken the time to remember the PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886 in today's latest speedrun level. As long as you beat the clock in Hard to Bear, available today as part of a new PS5 update, you'll find Sir Galahad, lead character of The Order: 1886, waiting at the end. He then appears in the game's main hub area wielding his electric gun.
Twitter user @SpyroRichard captured the hub animation, viewable below:
This is the penultimate speedrun level of the latest batch confirmed by Team Asobi, with one more in Armored Hardcore arriving next week on 13th March. Alongside the new Sir Galahad, this latest batch of levels has also brought Heihachi Mishima from Tekken, Toan from Dark Cloud, and Jade out of Beyond Good & Evil to the excellent PS5 platformer.
As for The Order: 1886 and developer Ready at Dawn, the latter has unfortunately closed after a stint of VR titles. Co-founder Andrea Pessino recently stated in an interview that a sequel to the PS4 title was pitched to Sony, but the platform holder turned it down. With a Metacritic rating of 63, Pessino believed it was the generally negative reception the game received that stopped Sony from green-lighting a follow-up.
Will you be playing Astro Bot today in order to set a record time and rescue Sir Galahad? Let us know in the comments below.

***** the haters, I want a sequel!!!
A game that keeps giving. (Astro, not The Order)
I’ve yet to play Astro Bot, but it’s good to see The Order 1886 get some recognition. I thought it was a solid game, and had the potential to build off its wonderful foundation in terms of story and characters. It’s a shame we will never see a sequel.
@BossBE Order had haters? I thought noone simply bought it.
I liked this game for what it was. Yes it had a few problems But the world building and atmosphere was fantastic.
Sadly we now know it was rushed out a bit, some content was cut, which would have made it longer and have more gameplay diverse sections. (the two main complaints)
But i'd love a proper sequel.
Be me... Wake up today "Oh the new Astro level is out! Should go check out the new bot. But let's see some PS news first." Goes to this site and gets spoiled(also The Order is a personal favourite of mine) in the frigging title of the article while scrolling... Seriously what sort of d*****t writes the title like that?
@Dalamar I don't think people hated it. It was just pretty short and mediocre game. Not awful, but nothing too special. Beautiful visuals, though.
Give Bend Studios this IP and let them make a sequel in the vein of Uncharted 2 Challenge!
Thanks for the spoiler...
The really shouldve let. Bluepoint make a sequel. Yes bluepoint, i trust them with everything
@BossBE Preach!
Again, “second to none” does not mean “next to nothing.”
That’s cruel imo. Make a new game!
Thanks for the major spoiler 👍, making a note to avoid this site next week. Looking forward to playing the level though.
@Dalamar Sales numbers were never announced, but there were enough warning signs that sales weren't that great. (E.g. It was 33% off after 1 month).
But the Insomniac leak referenced 1.15 m digital PSN sales, though another chart put it as only $19.95m digital revenue, suggesting most digital sales were seriously reduced cost. Obviously that is only digital and physical was a MUCH larger percentage in 2015, especially for AAA games and Day 1 sales.
Additionally I don't know if it was a direct result, but it was one of the first games I ever recall having a massive online campaign against it BEFORE release with the internet exaggerating how short it was, with some claiming it could be completed in a couple of hours. I suspect that did a lot of damage. (HLTB puts it at 7 hours)
You've just ruined my evening's speed run challenge
If one cannot see the sheer potential of The Order 1886, one got to be blind
Wildly frustrating to see the spoiler. People play the levels to see the bot at the end and you just stole that from all your loyal followers. Also we didn’t get a post like this for any other characters so you knew this was special.
The Order was too short, but I thought it was amazing technically and actually had an interesting premise and story. Gameplay didn't blow anything out of the water but it was a fairly decent shooter. It's too bad even though this took a loss, it had so much potential to be so much more and I think a sequel would have really addressed that.
Just played The Order for the first time about a month ago! Very solid experience now that the dust has settled. It is definitely lacking in complexity and length but I really liked it for what it was, would love to see them build on the formula
The Order was a good game, a great game. Enjoyed it. Would welcome another.
Oh what a lovely spoiler, thank you PushSquare.
I get it's kind of news, but also think this is a bit too much of a spoiler to have as a news story today
@3Above You don't get to make Uncharted 2 if Uncharted 1 doesn't sell.
Was very surprised to see him lol. It was pretty cool made up for last time (I was a little disappointed with the last bot the level was a beautiful feudal Japanese castle so I'm expecting to meet like Rikimaru, Ryu Hyabusa or Kasumi at the top......and it's the girl from Beyond Good & Evil 😅)
I played through The Order, more than once. I thought it was a really good game.
Yes, it was short, but at least you actually got to see the end of the story.
The visuals and the artistic style were just gorgeous, at the time. For an early PS4 game.
If not a sequel, then how about a remake?
I would like Ninja Theory to remake Heavenly Sword, as well. That was another great-looking fun game.
Hopefully somebody will do a remake, with PS5 visuals.
The Order was more of a tech demo than an actual game. It did have the potential to be a decent third-person series on PlayStation.
Man the gameplay and the way the guns felt in the order was incredible. I would kill for a 10-15 hour game that sticks with Victorian London. Dream game
Unfortunate article spoiler aside, liking the new speedrun level as usual (as with the others, wasn't a big fan of Thrust or Bust though).
Level took me quite a few deaths to figure out the end part in particular, eventually managing a time of 32.999 seconds (I could probably aim for sub 32 perhaps).
As much as I didn't love The Order 1886, I still would have loved to see a sequel and see how much they would have improved from the first game. Unfortunately, I doubt sony will ever be interested in bringing back the IP.
@Shadeon_Koopa 30.966 is the best I've gotten. God knows where the top runners are shaving the other 5 secs off
@heavyartillery56 According the one of the Co-founders of RAD the game sold decently, it was the critical reviews that weren't what Sony wanted. Apparently
the Metacritic score really matters. He was interviewed on a podcast last month as I recall.
@BossBE Same! I loved the game!
I enjoyed it for what it was my dad enjoyed watching me play it was like a long movie
Loved the order. Even today it looks incredible!
The Order has been in my backlog for a decade.
@NitrousX (#6) This is the incarnation of a "touch some grass" post.
@1UP-HUSKY @Americansamurai1 Seriously what is wrong with you people? These are "spoilers" to you?
@PerpetualBoredom yes it is,a lot of people like being surprised on finding out who the new bot is.
@PerpetualBoredom like my fellow gamer above me already said, yes, in some regard this can be called a spoiler.
Some people in the 21st century prefer not be shown everything there is in a game before they play it. They love to be surprised. A sensation that makes you feel shocked, happy or sometimes dissapointed and even angry.
It's something lost in recent years. And people that do still enjoy this feeling are usually bullied, called out that they are crazy that they still want to experience these small enjoyments of life.
@1UP-HUSKY @Americansamurai1 Thanks for your replies. I haven't gotten around to play the game yet, but a certain character/bot in the game seemed like a stretch regarding actual spoilers. Thanks for the clarification on your behalf!
And @PushSquare: You definetly could have been more creative with the headline and sub-header. That's what you advertise as your identity, at least.
@PerpetualBoredom yeah thats one of the biggest joys of the game is finding out who they included as vip bot. Game is truly amazing.
@PerpetualBoredom Ugh, a bit of pointy comment there friend... Apart from what the other folks here explained (the VIP bots being one of the "main draws" of the game, apart from stellar gameplay of course), have you considered the exact opposite point:
Imagine you're "touching too much grass" (as in work, family etc.), and have very limited time per week to play, and then someone comes and spoils that precious little time you have... Because you came to their website to read news not spoilers and generate them add revenue in the process... So I hope this clarifies my outburst.
Maybe don't be so quick to judge next time, just food for thought
@1UP-HUSKY @NitrousX I'm at fault here, I have to admit. I wasn't aware that some people acquire the discovery of the bots as the take away for spoilers. Insensitive of me, fellas. Be at peace, I will now be more sensitive towards how differently gamers experience games and the emotional attachment they develop. Cheers!
@Americansamurai1 the apology above to you as well! Thanks for the clarification, mate ♥️
