We're starting to grow a little concerned about Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
In case you somehow haven't heard, the upcoming PS5 and PS4 fighter will feature superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo as a playable character — but he won't be the only real-life celebrity taking up a spot on the roster.
Yep, DJ and producer Salvatore Ganacci has just been revealed as a competitor, sporting a stylish tracksuit and cool sunglasses. Ganacci is also supervising the game's soundtrack, which is apparently bringing 11 different "world-renowned" DJs together.

This is another character announcement no one saw coming, then, but it does feel like there's a bit of a backlash gathering steam amongst hardcore SNK fans. Most notably, we're seeing a number of complaints about real-life guest fighters taking up spots on the roster, which could have been given to fan-favourites.
What do you make of this? Is two real-life guest characters getting a bit silly? Sample some beats in the comments section below.

I'm pretty sure everyone expected this nonsense to start happening after SNK was purchased by the prince of Saudi Arabia. What a cancer on the industry. No one wants these characters lol.
I'm officially skipping this one lol
I was hoping itd be my new main fighter since I'm not exactly happy with the states of the current big 3 fighting games but yikes.
Virtua Fighter 6 can't come soon enough lol
This guy is a legend. Check out his YouTube shorts!
Refunded. Good luck next time, is a safe bet we will not be seeing this on EVO anytime soon. Maybe try listening to your audience next time, SNK.
@ThaBEN literally no one cares, this is not fortnite.
So then is a free for all circus, might aswell add Ronald McDonald to complete the clown show.
Kim Kardashian, please!

@Unizold
Good call. I'm not interested in this game, but happen to be a fan of his music and his awesome humoristic YouTube videos.
I did quit Call of Duty when Nicky Minaj etc. got introduced, so I understand your reasoning.
Disgusted. Hated the Ronaldo announcement and had assumed the last 2 spots would be legacy characters. I've been waiting for this game for years and I'm still getting it, but really feeling conflicted about it now.
Guess I'll look forward to beating up whoever this is in addition to Ronaldo!
"DJ and producer Salvatore Ganacci"
…who?😑
Oh boy, if it weren't for the fact that this is the first Fatal Fury game in 20+ years I would seriously consider dropping this game thanks to this waste of space.
This is an even weirder addition. Not sure what SNK are thinking.
Yeah these are weirs characters, but lets face it this is probably up to Saudi Arabia's influence rather than SNK. Plus not to mention that the first year of dlc characters are free does kinda make up for it, even if 2 of those characters are more guests
I gotta say originally I said I prefer guests to be from not fighting games when Terry and Mai in SF6 were the talk of the town. After seeing this umm...I might be changing that stance a bit.
I have no issue with fighting games that are conceived of as crossover titles from the get-go. Go nuts with the roster. But I absolutely loathe the concept of guest characters in what are otherwise "in-universe" mainline fighters. And these particular guest characters are mind-bogglingly stupid. Who wants this? SNK just keep making it easier to not support them.
I don't know who this guy is so you could have fooled me that he's a new FF character. Rinaldo's pretty funny and the Season 1 pass is stacked so I'm holding my pre-order.
SNK needs to chill out with these guest characters. Still getting the game, but definitely prefer actual Fatal Fury characters.
Never heard of him ? Plays other peoples records i take it.
I can't help but think this kind of corporate inclusion for the sake of it is going to become more popular over time. As others have mentioned; Fortnite, or CoD, have been long at this already, by including everyone from pop stars, to Marvel to legacy characters from whatever other series. Seems no space is sacred from
just shovelling novelty 'figures' into any form of entertainment, in a desperate bid to appeal to everyone and anyone. May as well bring over Peggy Mitchell, while you're at it.
Conveniently for the genre of the game he's starring in, he does have a punchable face.
(Not a serious call for violence, just a nod towards the weirdness of these "celebrities" saying "yeah, sure I think it's great to put my face on a virtual punching bag!")
@Jrs1 Both others and his own, I believe. Either way, this was the first time I heard about him.
Obviously it turns out he's signed to a label owned by the same people who own SNK.
I’m not sure if these fighting games are distasteful or just really immature.
I get the reason they include Ronaldo which to attract a lot of new audience. The sports athlete as a fighter design also exist in Fatal Fury or KOF too.
But this? I quite enjoyed EDM but never follow the DJ's or who's currently popular. So i don't know who the hell is Salvatore Ganacci lol.
And yeah, SNK needs to chill down a bit with the guest character lol.
@Unizold EVO US already showed the main lineup and they included Fatal Fury CotW.
@Voltan Small world indeed.
SNK has a wealth of characters. Why are they sourcing real people?
This is turning into a wait for a sale game for me.
This was one too much.
Ronaldo was fun and original.
This guy is just goofy and doesn't look cool at all.
Guess I'll stick to booting up Garou MotW the odd time for my FF kicks. This game went from a "must buy" to "you'll have to pay me to play it".
This and Ronaldo are some of the most tone-deaf garbage I've ever seen in a videogame. Honestly hope the game crashes and burns now.
