Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 studio Sandfall Interactive has shared some light details surrounding how its imminent RPG will perform on PS5 systems, including the PS5 Pro.
On the base PS5, there'll be Performance and Quality Modes that allow you to prioritise either the framerate or visuals. If you've got a PS5 Pro, then you can "also look forward to enhanced performance". The developer hasn't shared any extra details about what sort of resolutions or framerates the two modes will run at, however.

Elsewhere, the team shared a new character trailer (embedded above) and teased a few of the Trophies you can look forward to unlocking. We'll have a Trophy guide to share around the release of the PS5 title, but until then, the following has been shared:
- Expeditioner
- Reach level 33.
- Overcharge
- With Gustave, use a fully charged Overcharge that Breaks an enemy.
- Follow the Trail
- Find all of the journals from prior expeditions.
- Professional
- Defeat a boss without taking any damage.
- Connoisseur
- Find all 33 music records.
Here's the introduction to Sciel: "Meet Sciel, the Cheerful and Serene Warrior. A farmer turned teacher, Sciel is warm and outgoing, enjoying life day by day. She is at ease with death, having long accepted the brutality of their world. But her teasing smile masks a dark and painful past. Though deeply committed to the Expedition, she is untroubled by the specter of failure. They will do all in their power, and it will either be enough, or it won’t."

Comes out the day my 9 days off starts. What a happy accident that was!
Preordered > Week off to play > Yup I'm ready for this game.
This is currently my most-anticipated game. 🙌🏼
I wonder if "enhanced performance" mean a 120fps option or that it'll stick closer to "target" 60. I'd be more interested in the Pro version having 60fps mode with "quality" resolution, and an option to turn down/off motion blur; it looked horrible in the preview videos.
Not your fault @LiamCroft , and I really mean that (you are reporting on news based on what they have said, and I appreciate that) - but without fps and resolutions (or any other details like PSSR use) they really are not saying very much are they?
The hobby has moved on a bit since 5-10 years ago, and whilst I am sure some people dont care (or understand), others do these days - I mean sometimes we even get this info in table form!
Their info on 'pro enhancements' is particularly weak, as I would argue this subset of the audience are more likely to care about details.
I got this on pre-order. I'm a bit worried with it being their first game. That said it looks incredible and I wanted to support it.
@Rich33 Agreed, you'd figure they'd share more details than just general confirmation of PS5 Pro support. If that information doesn't come out publicly, we'll have it as part of our review coverage!
@LiamCroft
Maybe im wrong in all this, but devs deal with technical metrics like fps, and pre upscale / output resolutions, and can realistically provide this info (some have in the past). And as I say, I fully appreciate your news articles can only report on the details they choose to give out.
Places like DF can measure and check this info in in-game situations (and again I appreciate the summary articles you publish here).
Unbiased reviewers like yourselves can then report on the quality of the image that is seen, and the stability of the performance as experienced - one of the reasons I like Pushsquare so much is you do cover this with a critical eye for both base and Pro - we all know 1 game at 1440p/60fps will look / run better than another at 1440p/60fps.
I’ll be giving it a try on GP, so hopefully it runs decent on the S
