Diablo 4 Roadmap

Blizzard's given us some insight into its plans for Diablo 4, as the action RPG closes in on its second anniversary.

In truth, it feels like the game's lost a lot of the momentum that it built up with Vessel of Hatred — the expansion that launched back in October. Many players would tell you that the title's endgame grind is still lacking an identity, and that developer support has been inconsistent at best.

The reveal of this roadmap is quite timely, then. While it doesn't go into much detail, opting instead for a lot of rather vague bullet points, it covers the whole year, and reconfirms that a second expansion is on track for 2026.

Basically, there are three upcoming seasons, each with their own power gimmick and unique activities. On top of that, permanent additions like new bosses and dungeons are in the pipeline.

The question, though, is whether this is enough. It's entirely fair to say that Path of Exile 2 stole so much of Diablo's thunder when it entered early access in December, but even Grinding Gear Games' efforts have drawn serious scrutiny in recent times. Keeping live service action RPGs ticking isn't easy, we suppose.
